Scientists and journalists criticizing Aaron Rodgers for ‘spreading misinformation’ should look in the mirror

The media, scientists and others are outraged at Aaron Rodgers claiming that he was immunized when he hadn’t been vaccinated. He was playing word games; the two are distinct concepts. But now they are accusing him of the sin of spreading misinformation.

I missed the consternation when WHO lied to the World in January 2020 that COVID wouldn’t spread person to person. How many died or got sick because of that lie to cover up for China? Biden renewed their funding, and we are still supposed to believe their pronouncements.

Fauci said in February 2020 that the people in the U.S. weren’t at much risk. Why isn’t Fauci blamed for the deaths and illnesses instead of Trump since he is the “expert”.

In March 2020, the CDC said, without evidence, that COVID would spread easily off surfaces. In May, they said never mind, we made that up.

CDC also said, without evidence, that people had to be six feet apart, especially at schools. Later in the year they changed it to 3 feet, again without evidence.

Businesses and schools were told, without evidence, to put up plexiglass to stop the spread. Later in the year the evidence showed that they might cause more harm than good.

The discovery could pave the way for a new generation of vaccines targeting the T-cell response, which could produce much longer lasting immunity, scientists said.
Leo Swadling, an immunologist at University College London and lead author of the paper, said: “Everyone has anecdotal evidence of people being exposed but not succumbing to infection. What we didn’t know is whether these individuals really did manage to completely avoid the virus or whether they naturally cleared the virus before it was detectable by routine tests.”...

The work suggests that a subset of people already had memory T-cells from previous infections from other seasonal coronaviruses causing common colds, which protected them from Covid-19.
These immune cells “sniff out” proteins in the replication machinery – a region of Covid-19 shared with seasonal coronaviruses – and in some people this response was quick and potent enough for the infection to be cleared at the earliest stage. “These pre-existing T-cells are poised ready to recognise SARS-CoV-2,” said Swadling...

The finding is particularly significant because the T-cell arm of the immune response tends to confer longer lasting immunity, typically of years rather than months, compared with antibodies. Nearly all existing Covid-19 vaccines focus on priming antibodies against the vital spike protein that helps SARS-CoV-2 enter cells. These neutralising antibodies give excellent protection against severe illness. However, the immunity wanes over time and a potential weakness of spike-based vaccines is that this region of the virus is known to mutate.

By contrast, the T-cell response does not tend to fade as quickly and the internal replication machinery that it targets is highly conserved across coronaviruses, meaning a vaccine that also targeted this region would probably protect against new strains – and possibly even against entirely new pathogens...

11 Nov: Jamaica Gleaner: Guy hints at COVID PCR test scam

Opposition Spokesman on Health Dr Morais Guy has alleged that there is an ongoing scam involving polymerase chain reaction (PCR) COVID-19 testing with whirlwind turnaround of results in a matter of minutes.
He made the claim during Tuesday’s sitting of the House of Representatives where he told legislators that he has reported the matter to the relevant authorities.
According to Guy, the results of PCR tests are being furnished in as short a time as eight minutes, a major deviation from the standard turnaround period.
PCR test results may be returned as early as 24 hours after sample collection, but sometimes take a few days depending on throughput to laboratories...

In his rebuttal, Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton said the testing process used in the country has been outlined.
Meantime, he sought to clarify reports that only World Health Organization (WHO)-approved COVID-19 test kits are allowed into the country.
The agency responsible for international public health identified Jamaica as one of two countries in the region that had imported substandard COVID-19 test kits.
Tufton said that the ministry is mandated under the Food & Drug Act (1964) to regulate healthcare products, including medical devices through product registration and permit processes.

He said some time after October 2020, Cabinet approved the expansion of the list of test kits using the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Private-sector entities were then invited to submit a list of the kits most preferred and that the necessary validation would be conducted and permits granted thereafter.

He said based on the instruction of Cabinet, the emergency use listing issued by the WHO and the emergency use authorisation issued by the FDA, the ministry began the process of approving permits for the importation of test kits.
Tufton said that four test kits were approved for use and noted that private-sector entities allowed to import them must channel applications through the ministry’s Standards and Regulation Division.
He said, however, that after being notified by the WHO that SD Biosensor Standard Q COVID-19 antigen test kits manufactured India were present in the market, an investigation was conducted and the importer ordered to quarantine the products.
The tests were being administered at a cost significantly lower than the standard market price...

Tufton said that while guidance was given in relation to the test kits in question, there was a mix-up in specifications in the manufacturing process...

10 Nov: Jamaica Observer: Tufton addresses importation of unapproved antigen test kits

Dr Tufton was responding to questions tabled by Opposition spokesman on health Dr Morais Guy about the importation of 100,000 SD Biosensor Standard Q COVID-19 antigen test kits from India.
The matter was first brought to national attention by the Jamaica Observer last week in a front-page story pointing to the importation of the unapproved test kits by a local company.

The WHO had indicated that the antigen test with the product code SD Biosensor Standard Q is not among those which it had approved for use. Additionally, the antigen test kits imported from India were not approved by the FDA...

Tufton explained that the South Korean manufacturing base for the kits received WHO validation, but that the production process for the company’s Indian subsidiary, to which the kits were outsourced, had not. Jamaica received kits from both the South Korean and Indian companies in August...
