A dramatic video captured the moment an Amtrak train slammed into a semi-truck hauling several cars in Oklahoma, sending vehicles and debris flying and injuring several people on board.
The incident occurred Friday around 7 p.m. local time in Thackerville, near the Oklahoma-Texas border. Minutes before Amtrak Train 822, which operates daily between Fort Worth, Texas, and Oklahoma City, was scheduled to pass through, the car hauler tractor trailer got stuck...

A very poorly thought out rail crossing.
I could see all kinds of vehicles at risk for bottoming out on the tracks with a grade like that.
A little gentler a slope would have prevented that. That would not be a major infrastructure fix. Raise the grade further out from the tracks and repave.
The headline should be “What happens when a truck stops on the tracks in front of a moving train”
That condition exists at about a million crossings all across the country. They are all clearly marked. If you drive a truck, it is your responsibility to avoid them.
It looks to me like the train jumped a little and almost derailed.

They’ll agree with you, but will still vote for the Rat that strokes their cowardly, self-serving needs.
The tracks are “built up a little higher at that crossing” according to some Amtrak guy. So the truck got stuck. That would’ve been good to know ahead of time a-holes.
I think those Okies misread the Cornhole Rules and Equipment Book.
Nice Hang-time on the SUV I’ll give it 9️⃣.8️⃣ for Style.
The hang time on the SUV was awesome...
A function of GPS or Wayz.
There were 110 passengers and crew members on board
We have a track problem like that here too in town. Right after crossing the tracks the slope is down hill. So the longer low trailers drag across the rails and sometimes tear them out. Anyone with eyes and a brain can stand back and see why it happens.
Truckers are suppose to know their routs, yes, and make phone calls when stuck like that. But it also seems to me Amtrak was flying blind. 2 diesels and 2 passenger cars could have stopped quick. The operator should have been looking ahead. The horn blew as if that was a normal crossing. Was that a blind curve?
gonna get a ticket for that windshield
Thank goodness the dog is ok.
Thank you for the YouTube link. Like a knife through butter.
Let's go Brandon!
Probably going to need a pair of Wiper Blades too.
I’ve never seen a car carrier vs a train, before. Wowser!
