A very poorly thought out rail crossing.
I could see all kinds of vehicles at risk for bottoming out on the tracks with a grade like that.
A little gentler a slope would have prevented that. That would not be a major infrastructure fix. Raise the grade further out from the tracks and repave.

The headline should be “What happens when a truck stops on the tracks in front of a moving train”

It looks to me like the train jumped a little and almost derailed.

The tracks are “built up a little higher at that crossing” according to some Amtrak guy. So the truck got stuck. That would’ve been good to know ahead of time a-holes.

I think those Okies misread the Cornhole Rules and Equipment Book.
Nice Hang-time on the SUV I’ll give it 9️⃣.8️⃣ for Style.

The surprise in the story:
There were 110 passengers and crew members on board

Truckers are suppose to know their routs, yes, and make phone calls when stuck like that. But it also seems to me Amtrak was flying blind. 2 diesels and 2 passenger cars could have stopped quick. The operator should have been looking ahead. The horn blew as if that was a normal crossing. Was that a blind curve?

There's lots of videos on You Tube of dumb ass truckers doing stuff like this.
You can clearly see there is nothing behind this truck and apparently nothing in front of it and for what ever reason the truck is sitting in the path of the train. Why?

That new car you ordered will be delayed a bit in being delivered.
They have to gather up the parts.....
