Two FBI agents briefly visited the North Port, Fla. home of Brian Laundrie on Sunday morning and asked his parents for some of their son's personal items to help with "DNA matching," according to the family's lawyer.
"The FBI requested some personal items belonging to Brian Laundrie to assist them with DNA matching and Brian’s parents provided the FBI with what they could," the Laundries' lawyer, Steven Bertolino, told Fox News on Sunday.

A couple of possibilites:
1. Search has turned up something (e.g. in the Carlton Reserve);
2. DNA is needed for analysis in Gabby's autopsy.
He’s dead, Jim.
Perhaps, the gators didn’t leave much behind?
The FBI agents were handed a small envelope at the door of the Laundrie’s home.
What? No way that can be DNS admissible evidence legally.
“SO Mr., if that’s your chosen pronoun, FBI Special Short Bus Agent, you say you obtained the sample DNA from the defendants parents. Where and how did they obtain it? You don’t know? Your honor...
The dog did it....whatever it was.
Clowns on parade.
It is surely a guessing game with today’s update.
Why wouldn't they obtain DNA source when Brian was initially reported missing or when the FBI raided the home the first time? When the search of Carlton Reserve first started for missing Brian, they took clothing items belonging to Brian to give scent to the search dogs.
They searched the home a week ago. Was there nothing in there to provide them with what they needed ?
Maybe the FBI is going to place the sample they have with whatever remains they are holding in Wy ?
Why are they still sitting on the remains and why is there no cause of death ?
FBI doesnt want look bad on this one.
The FBI never cares how they look. Ask Comey how that works.
No, he’s not..he’s out of the country, the DNA probably involves evidence they found on Gabby’s body..have you seen the parents when they leave their house, not a care in the world. Days prior to their son “Going to the swamp” they got a camper and went “Camping” yeah camping my fanny that is when he left, either going towards Canada or got a flight to Cuba
The search warrant may have been limited to electronic devices or for anything related to the debit card misuse charge. It would be hard to tell a judge you needed DNA when you are investigating ATM fraud.
Would they not need a warrant for personal items for DNA ?
My thought was the parents were wrong in giving them what they wanted without one.
Gee I dont think the fuzz would ever plant evidenced you ?
FBI's doin' it's usual bang up job.
I wouldn’t speak a word to any federal authority. The risks are too great. If I want to cooperate I would let my lawyer do all the talking and all the process risk. I don’t care if I was Paul Harvey or Mother Theresa.
“the DNA probably involves evidence they found on Gabby’s body.”
I’m having a hard time figuring out how DNA is going to help in a case where the people lived together in a little tiny van. I’m sure both of their DNA is all over each other.
3) They’ve found what they suspect is left of Landry.
Laundrie...
Along those same lines, North Port police have had custody of the van since 9/11 when Gabby was reported missing.
Good point.
