Probably because they are elected by the community and he has no real jurisdiction, other than getting attorneys to take it on.
Picked by the community? I doubt it. As a practical matter they are selected by the teachers union and run as a slate with union money and manpower behind their campaigns. Few people vote and the parents and town get pretty much what they deserve. Then one day they wake up to what is going on but they are stuck at least until the next election. These people will not resign. They will not be prosecuted, and they may well win the next election unless the teachers’ uniom decides to replace them with some equally bad picks.

I used to live in Hudson. It’s a beautiful Norman Rockwell city, but It has been infiltrated with liberal millennials. They are on Facebook trying to defend this smut being taught in our schools. I am glad that people are starting to push back and not let these liberals get away with ruining this beautiful town.

The Mayor is exercised over texts used by High School *seniors* in a Creative Writing class. There are only children involved to the extent that the seniors are likely 17 years old, not 18.

During a school board meeting on Monday, Shubert said the school was distributing “essentially what is child pornography in the classroom.” Several parents had earlier complained about the content.

However, parents accused the board of attempting to “sexualize our kids” and questioned how the “raw filth” had “snuck past the gatekeeping functions” of educators and board members for years. One speaker said the material amounted to “grooming,” while another parent, a police officer, called for cameras to be installed in classrooms.
“The students were told not to take the book home. Why? So their parents couldn’t see it,” said parent Morris Norman.

In your mind, this is ok for a 17 year old because they are almost an 18 year old? GTFO.
If a crime was committed, an arrest should be made and prosecution started, regardless of resignation.
