I agree but Dan does not have the ease and fluid presentation that Rush had. He needs to improve on his voice, hesitation markers and presentation. Rush had an unmatched presentation, Dan needs a lot of work.
“No offense, but he can’t and won’t.”
I believe everyone on this thread agrees, and has said exactly that. DB will do his best, will do well, but it will be his show and not Rush’s.
I sure miss that old windbag
Good. The “Guide to What Rush Said,” is unlistenable. I do enjoy Mark Steyne of all the fill ins (living since I loved when Walter Williams filled in).
First exposure to Rush Limbaugh fro me was college that had a billboard on the way of only his mouth that said, “Rush Limbaugh’s Mouth, Actual Size.”
I lived in Florida, had just voted for Clinton’s first term. Then I drove from Florida to California. Listened to the radio on the way, Rush’s show was the only thing availailable in rural areas. By the time I reached California, I was a Republican. Never looked back. Hope Bongino changes minds and hearts the way Rush did.
Rush also knew how to modulate his sentences and presentation.
I wish I could have told him that he had the best pregnant pause since Jack Benny.
Rush’s uhhhhhh pregnant pauses always cracked me up.
You knew right off he was dubious about some caller’s point or was formulating an incisive retort.
Voice delivery and tone are so key in holding a listening audience.
As for the Long Goodbye and guide hosts, it is time to move on. I am a Rush subscriber. I can troll his archives. But I can’t get the Rush genius on what’s happening today: I miss him and that unique Rush perspective. I mostly listen to Howie Carr, who I enjoy, but Howie does not analyze events - he just has fun with them.
Will Cain’s podcast is pretty good in analyzing and giving perspective. I also think that Jesse Waters would have been a better choice than Bongino. Will give Bongino a chance. Just hope he doesn’t come across as loud-mouthed and insulting to callers as Mark Levin.
Mr Limbaugh understood that broadcasting required its own special skillset separate from content- thus his tongue-in-cheek reference to being a ‘highly trained broadcast specialist’. None of his wanna be successors have that and never will.
Rush also knew how to modulate his sentences and presentation.
I wish I could have told him that he had the best pregnant pause since Jack Benny.
= = =
He would set up a subject, and then make a controversial comment about it, just seconds before the hard break before the top of the hour.
Savage is a loon and was always jealous and disrespective of Rush.
Me too ! He came on after G Gordon Liddy
Bongino is intense, loves his country, and has a fire in his belly to stand up for our freedoms and liberties. He’s no pushover. I miss Rush terribly, but he’s not Rush, he’s Bongino. America needs Bongino now more than ever to be their beacon of light, and to begin to rally up the troops again.
He’s already said just that on his podcast
I would not be surprised if he said it again
