This is why the (denver) Broncos have no quarterbacks, and why they can't sign a new one (still will play)

Why can't the Broncos sign a quarterback? The logical thought one might have to the Broncos not having a quarterback is to simply sign a new one. But the NFL implemented COVID-19 rules for new players, which limits when they can actually play for a team. Per the NFL protocols, a new player cannot enter their team facility or start to practice until they test negative for five straight days and then test negative on the sixth day with a point of contact test.

Even if the Broncos reacted right away and signed a quarterback after Driskel's positive test, there would not have been enough days in between for them to be eligible to play.

His knees aren’t so good anymore. Looks like they will use a wide receiver as QB

A "pandemic" so deadly and dangerous....that not a single NFL, NBA or MLB player has died, or even missed a season from the virus.

Yet a nation of pussified Karens turned against Trump over it.

Yes, it does seem like we are doing all of this for a virus which 99.7% of us will recover from if we do get it.

I wish at some point we would be able to do a risk assessment as far as what should be done about this virus. And part of that assessment should be the fact that this virus is not the Bubonic plague , it is not the return of smallpox. It is serious , however , did we as a society overreact by shutting down society? The powers-that-be don’t seem to be thinking in those terms.

It would be fun to see old Horse face play again if they were playing the Chiefs. See him sacked over and over again. He has ruined the Broncos... John. Thank you for your fine work as Broncos President.

The NFL is totally dead to me.

Last time I paid attention, Tom Brady was QB for New England Patriots and they were making the playoffs pretty much every year and getting into a lot of Super Bowls. Now I understand Brady is playing for some Florida team and Coach Bellichick is floundering and eating too many of those fancy Italian cookies with the anisette flavoring.

Anyway, I just don't care anymore.

All these Pro athletes getting positive tests is way out of proportion with the general population.

This is more psyop to engender fear in the population.

The NFL is another useful tool for the WHO agenda.

Not unprecedented. In 1965 Tom Matte took over as QB after Baltimore Colt's Johnny Unitas and Gary Cuozzo were injured toward the end of the season. Matte had been a running QB at Ohio State under Woody Hayes emphasis on ground game. Matte did a great job and damn near got them to championship.

I took the bet that Saints will have to win by more than two TDs without Brees. its -15.5 and my bookie isnt providing an alternative spread bet.

May be a sucker bet but I going with it.

You failed to post an important part of this story. The facts that the THREE backups were all in close contact with the “backup” QB and were ruled out based on protocol, not because they tested positive.

from the article:

Backup Jeff Driskel was the first quarterback on the Broncos to test positive for COVID-19 this week. According to 9News’ Mike Klis, Driskel had no symptoms and interacted with fellow quarterbacks Drew Lock, Brett Rypien and Blake Bortles on Wednesday. Then, on Thursday, Driskel tested positive.

According to Schefter, Lock, Rypien and Bortles were not wearing masks during their interaction with Driskel. While those three quarterbacks did not test positive for COVID-19, they were deemed as “high-risk close contacts” and ruled out Saturday evening.
