I were an Indigenous Person, Morman, or other protected class of persons living in Utah, Oklahoma, etc. subjected to historic government discriminatory practices if my vote was diluted by some POS fraudster in Philly or Detroit that had their vote permitted with no meaningful scrutiny or verification process. This is more than just be angry like everyday Americans as a general matter. This is a legitimate constitutional question that is a product of a disparate impact discrimination practice. Their voices had been silenced exactly like it was 100 years ago

I appreciate that. I am speaking in the legal sense in the context of discrimination. There needs to be a federal path to address the constitution assignment of election methods to state legislatures. If the state’s practice has the effect of depriving a protect class member of rights, even if it is neutral in application, may be unconstitutional.

Yep. But my point is less about fundamental/common sense. I’m am thinking about if this approach would open a lane for minimum federal voting standards and a test to determine if each state’s individual vote laws meet constitutional muster. Ultimately, ending free for all mail in voting.

and I agree with you. In today’s high tech world there is no reason we should have to deal with the garbage that our political leaders ignore as far as the voting process is concerned.
For too long we have allowed the Republicans to not challenge the Democrats regarding voter fraud.
It is so simple to correct. When, say a 40 year old person registers to vote, the county Voter Registrar checks the national database and determines the person has never registered elsewhere. Then the person is asked for proof of citizenship and place of residence. Done.
If a person has registered elsewhere, their registration at the prior location is voided immediately and the new registration is effective. Done.
Then when people die, the death certificate is forwarded to the current Registrar of Voters. Done.
Again, given our high tech world there is no reason for Americans to put up with the garbage being handed out by our political leaders.
