Roberts to administer judicial oath to Barrett Tuesday
The Hill ^ | 10/26/20 | Justine Coleman

Posted on 10/27/2020 3:45:05 AM PDT by Libloather

Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the judicial oath to Amy Coney Barrett on Tuesday following her confirmation to the Supreme Court on Monday evening.

The Supreme Court announced that Roberts will give the judicial oath to Barrett in a private ceremony Tuesday after she was officially confirmed by the Senate in a 52-48 vote.

“Upon administration of that oath, she will be able to begin to participate in the work of the Court,” the Supreme Court release states.

Barrett will be recognized in a formal ceremony at a special sitting of the Supreme Court “at a later date.”

The judicial oath will follow the constitutional oath that Justice Clarence Thomas will administer Monday night to swear in Barrett as a justice. Thomas will swear-in Barrett at a ceremony at the White House, prompting questions from some about the safety of the event.

Barrett’s confirmation solidifies the Supreme Court’s 6-3 conservative majority. She became the first justice in modern history to be confirmed without bipartisan support after no Democrats voted for her; only Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) crossed party lines to vote against her confirmation.

The judicial oath ceremony will come a week before Election Day.

Hmmm. Will Roberts “accidentally” leave out a word on the oath like he did to Obama?

Then leftists can say she wasn’t officially sworn in.

I was confused that Thomas did the first oath, I didn’t know there were two.

Now the question is, when Roberts says the words of the second oath, will he burst into flames.

DNC-RINO-NWO-Roberts is unable to honestly read
or to tell the Truth because of what
was GIVEN to him to pervert Justice.

Roberts should NOT be allowed on the Court
or anywhere where HONESTY is required
absent BRIBERY.

If I’m not mistaken, she was legally sworn in by Thomas shortly after the confirmation.

The 2nd swearing in is more of a public dog & pony show.

I believe it was the same with Kavanaugh—sworn in officially after the vote and then a swearing in for ceremony

He’s probably relieved that the left’s pictures of Damocles have suddenly become irrelevant for the time being.

I understood the swearing in last night by Thomas was for the public. The swearing in by Roberts will be done today in private inside the court. Thereafter she will go right to work.

nope, both oaths are required for supreme court and district court judges.

First one required by constitution for all federal officials, second one by judiciary act of 1789 for supreme court and district court judges

I would not put it past Roberts to refuse to swear her in.

No Nancy, those are not arrows in your quiver. Those are rocks in your head.

Roberts will be choking on his compromised tongue over this one. The Hamlet of DC has had his show cancelled.

I still think Gorsuch is wobbly. Roberts will probably go to work on him with some argument about the court needing 'balance' and try to convert him into a perennial 'swing vote'.

I was under the impression that Justice Thomas. []my hero] Swore her in last night. From his actions, I consider John Roberts to be a traitor to all freedom loving people everywhere.
