Last night at the townhall, Savannah see you next Tuesday kept telling President Trump, 2 million would be done if we did nothing on Covid!
She is implying the lockdowns saved us or what is her premise on this? Maybe I am just not getting it or missed something along the road since March. Thanks!

If 2 million would have died without the restrictions then two million will die anyway. This is not like Bubonic Plague for which we know that isolation from rats is what prevents it. You can’t get away from a virus. You can isolate a very small portion of the population into relative safety but there are not the resources to totally isolate the whole. Lockdowns and such only prolong the epidemic and add to the deaths by hose killed by the lockdown as have been recounted already. Lockdowns perhaps change a bit the identities of those who die directly from the virus but the total will be about the same, just spread out over time more destructively to the society with the added deaths due to the lockdown itself.

No that is not how it went. Trump said his shutting off travel from China and Europe saved 2 million lives.

She also falsely stated that Trumps claims about a new cdc study showing that mask wearing didn’t fully prevent the spread of the Wuhan virus was wrong. She cut the President off twice to say that she read the study and “it doesn’t say that”. In fact, Trump was right and it does say exactly what he said. The cdc study shows that 85% of new Wuhan virus infected patients were regular mask wearers and that did not stop them from getting it.
