So wouldn't you WANT to shortcut the bureaucracy to rush a vaccine through?

Not specific to COVID: in general I don't want to take a vaccine that they cut corners on. For a disease as mild as COVID I definitely don't want to.

All he’s saying there is he’s not concerned about the fact the vaccine uses a new technology.
He has been consistent about letting the FDA process run its course, and suggested as much on CNN tonight - when he was challenged on the FDA might rush the process, he responded: “the FDA hasn’t made a decision yet.”
He’s a weasel, and is in no hurry to get the vaccine approved.
The FDA is slow walking the phase 3 placebo trial. Its a pandemic.
What if the corners have been are unnecessarily burdensome and provide no real benefits?

it’s just one of several reasons i won’t be taking this vaccine ... the other is that experimental mRNA and synthetic adenovirus vectors that penetrate the cells and hijack cellular ribosomes to trick the body into manufacturing the COVID antigens itself instead of traditional vaccines that directly inject the antigens has never before in human history been tried on billions of people ...
Shortcuts are fine if there’s enough need. Just don’t make the FDA lie about certification.

I don't think it's a matter of Trump wanting to take shortcuts. I think it's a matter of the FDA and Fauci changing the FDA procedures to make it longer.

Also consider that if the vaccine isnt perfect and isnt delivered perfectly, then Fauxi cannot take his victory lap book and speaking tour. At his age that is a real concern.
