James Bond actress and Game of Thrones star Dame Diana Rigg has died today at the age of 82 following a short battle with cancer.
The British actress made her name in the cult 1961 TV series The Avengers, before going on to star as the cutthroat matriarch Lady Olenna Tyrell in HBO's Game of Thrones.
More recently, Rigg appeared as the eccentric Mrs Pumphrey in the 2020 adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small - which aired last night on Channel 5.

Best Bond girl evah...I saw her in the revival of "My Fair Lady" on Broadway where she played Mrs. Higgins. When Ms. Rigg stepped onto to the stage for the first time the audience applauded her.

Damn. She was by far my favorite Bond Girl.
From the interviews I have seen of her she seems to have been a very down to earth person too.

What a woman she was! She helped cement a healthy heterosexuality into many young males in the 1960s. Always feminine, ever unconventional, and never boring, Dame Diana will be missed.

In 7th grade I was a HUGE avengers fan and had a serious crush on Emma Peel.
It’s funny, as a kid in the US, my two favorite TV shows were The Avengers and The Prisoner. And when my friends were into Cream and Foghat, I was into Genesis.
I guess I have always liked weird stuff.

This saddens me. I loved to see her on screen. From The Avengers to Tracy Bond to her role in Game of Thrones. She was a stunner.

“The Avengers” was one of my favorite shows as a kid. Though a British show, ABC showed it on Fr. nights in the 60s. It was a really loopy, surreal show, unlike anything else on at that time.

82...damn that's too young! Why not Pelosi or Fonda instead?

The Avengers was a corny show but I loved it. I can unashamedly admit, as a young lad I had a crush on Miss Peel. I watched the entire series online a couple of years back, she was still hot and the series was fun to watch.
