If Civil War statues don’t belong on Historical Battlefields and Memorial Grounds of the Civil War, then where do they belong?
Might as well get rid of the Battlefield Grounds as well. Then it can be as if the entire Civil War never happened to future generations that have it omitted from their history books.
Then they can be taught that Blacks have been enslaved in America since 1619 without a single objection by any White person ever.

I think it says something about the press that this is “news”.
How many descendants does Robert E. Lee have? Probably quite a few. Well, they found one — one — who will step forward and support destruction of battlefield statues. How many descendants could they find who might support the continued display of battlefield statues? Perhaps dozens. But who cares about those people? That wouldn’t be a news story. That wouldn’t fit the Narrative. So we’ll just make a big deal out of this one guy. Because this idiot is useful.

These were my thought, exactly! I doubt this guy is even a descendent. I grew up with a Lee family in Pittsburgh . The Lee family name is not unusual or limited to Southerners. A real descendent would never, in my opinion, put themselves out there as turncoats. just sayin’

Please, media, uncle! I am so sick of reading articles about this "Lee ancestor" individual they trot out every time Confederate statues are in the news (2015, 2017, 2020), and usually countless times. This is the third or fourth article, all spaced well apart so they're not just all the same story, I've read with this guy in the past month.
