Rubio: It “might actually be better” if the UFOs are aliens
Hot Air ^ | Jazz Shaw

As we discussed last month, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has released a bill which, if passed, would direct the Pentagon to get their act together on the UFOs our military has been chasing around in our airspace and issue a report on what’s going on and make it available to the public. The acting head of that committee is Florida Senator Marco Rubio, so he’s been receiving a lot of predictable media attention on this subject. From everything I’ve seen, Rubio has been taking the question in an admirably serious fashion and not ducking away from opportunities to comment.

*snip*

Rubio keeps a serious tone, discussing the possibility of a threat to national security as represented by these strange craft. But he then goes on to offer a rather startling opinion as to their origin. While not directly invoking the word “aliens,” he says that if it’s “something outside this planet,” that might be better than finding out that the Chinese or the Russians have gotten a huge leap on us in the technology race. (Washington Examiner)

“Look, here’s the interesting thing for me about all this and the reason why I think it’s an important topic, OK? We have things flying over our military bases and places where we’re conducting military exercises, and we don’t know what it is, and it isn’t ours. So, that’s a legitimate question to ask,” Rubio said in a Thursday interview with Jim DeFede of CBS4 News in Miami. “I would say that, frankly, that if it’s something outside this planet, that might actually be better than the fact that we’ve seen some technological leap on behalf of the Chinese or the Russians or some other adversary that allows them to conduct this sort of activity.”

“We have things flying over our military bases and places where we’re conducting military exercises, and we don’t know what it is, “

Are we sure this premise is established?

“ Sure, an advanced civilization is sure not to vote for Democrats.”

Could you imagine a bunch of democrats on a multi generational ship?
Thats probably what happened to that cylindrical ship that entered and exited our solar system perpendicular to the ecliptic. They were probably bringing earth cures for diseases, and FTL technologies, but then a bunch of rich lazy alien kids burnt down the dilythium processor and salted the agricultural pod

I still remember books written in the late 1950s on alien visitors. One writer claimed they came from Venus, and had photos. Poor quality photos.

Or spiritual.

There are some who think some are angels of God, and others are demons.

Can demons appear as a grey, black-eyed aliens coming out of a light beam and carrying off paralyzed victims?

Would they?

Perhaps to spread the tares among the believers in an atomic-age civilization that loves science fiction?

“Homo sapiens is very uncomfortable dealing with the possibility that we are not the top of the food chain.”

I take exception to that as I like my alien burgers well done.

Things are coalescing for the ‘big lie’ to be spewed when the Body of Christ is departed. L A Marzulli is fond f saying, “We go up, they come down’. The lie that aliens originated humanity on Earth is already gaining steam ...

Exactly. And that we don’t blow one out of the sky is somewhat telling, as well.

When aliens fly by Earth, I bet they lock the doors.

CNN “news” is so full of crap that I think they might get it from Ancient Aliens.

Why do you believe there have not been ‘retrievals’ over the last six decades? There are witnesses to them. I know one personally and I do not believe he would make up a fairy tale.

One of Rubio’s UFO’s came from the nearest planet beyond our solar system. What is it, 4 1/2 light years away? Even if it could fly at the speed of light it would take him 4 1/2 years to get here.

And for what? Surely if it takes it 4 1/2 years to get here, it’s here for a better purpose than just flying around and spooking people.

And this ia assuming it is from 4 1/2 years away, the next nearest is what, 9 light years away? And assuming it’s craft can travel at the speed of light.

None of this makes sense. After all these years of people claiming to see them, where are these aliens? Where’s their spacecraft? After coming this far and they haven’t landed anywhere?

Modern physics does not provide a clear mechanism for faster than light travel -- nor does it entirely forbid it.

Consider the Alcubierre drive, a speculative idea by theoretical physicist Miguel Alcubierre for a warp drive based on Einstein's field equations in general relativity. Granted, the negative energy required is beyond present technology, but it might be plausible in a generation or two. Experimental tests are apparently being developed.

More broadly, the connections between relativity, gravity, and quantum mechanics are not yet resolved. That gap leaves major cosmological questions open and could generate new physics that offers a practical basis for faster than light travel.

Theoretical physicists live for such possibilities and I am unwilling to bet against them. After all, just when classical physics seemed to have all the answers, along came Einstein, pulling at loose ends and revolutionizing physics at both the subatomic and cosmological scales.

I wonder if those aliens swim in bubble pools and dance to the YMCA?

So the pilots where playing an arcade game? The heat signature was recorded by the camera, and the highly trained and intelligent pilots discussed what they were seeing. So we have a visual and a recording of said anomoly. What was it?

Shot down, or crashed? Either would be possible, I suppose. I know a guy that believes the UFOs are from a spiritual plane. He’s described his sightings to me, usually in proximity to military bases. What he describes sounds like afterburners, to me. But he believes in them. He also smokes a lot of weed and claims divinely inspired dreams.

If these “UFOs” are human piloted experimental technology built and owned by US defense contractors and/or top secret (black) government design and development agencies, who better to secretly test their capabilities against than our own air defenses, radars and interceptors?

I’ve long wondered how much of this is “just an exercise”?

"So we have a visual and a recording of said anomoly. What was it?"
-- Computer glitches occur all the time, they're nothing unique or very special at all.
Now, the important part on this is in interpreting the alleged "anomoly". I believe in the axiom that when you run into something shocking, astounding and/or never seen before, you should go with the most likely and reasonable expectation.
In this case, just some run of the mill stray blips that all modern technology is heir to.
With no evidence other than some blips on what's basically a game console, it's difficult to say it reflects even just a tangible reality that could conceivably be in the realm of some kind of possibility - e.g. a bad representation of commercial or military aircraft.
To my thinking, the below is not the first place I'd go for the explanation. I understand it's fun to speculate about space creatures invading earth, but I prefer to apply logic and rationality. A person just has to ask himself which explanation is likely in the real world.
