‘This is not my moment’ White candidate drops out of state rep race (Boston)
Boston Herald ^ | July 9, 2020 | RICK SOBEY

The lone white candidate in the race for the Massachusetts 12th Suffolk House seat — a district made up of 70% Black residents — is dropping out in the wake of the national civil rights movement that was sparked by the police killing of George Floyd.

Cam Charbonnier, a longtime aide for Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, cited this “inspiring” movement in his decision to leave the race as he wrote in a letter on Thursday, “I realize that this is not my moment.”

“… It has become clear to me that at this time and in this district, I may not be the right candidate for this seat,” he wrote on his campaign website. “In these extraordinary times, and in a district where communities of color make up an overwhelming proportion of its residents, I have decided, in consultation with voters and loved ones alike, that the best way that I can serve this movement is by stepping aside as a candidate.”

“But running for this seat in the midst of a global pandemic and during a modern and inspiring civil rights movement, I’ve gained a new awareness..."

Another patsy.

He’s stepping aside, likely on instructions from the Party and assurance of something compensatory down the road.

He should be a man and put a revolver in his mouth at his desk. One less cracker, that would show real support for the movement.

I think every white person who believes systematic racism is a problem and black lives matter should immediately quit his job and insist his employer replace him with a black, excuse me, Black person, especially one who is nonbinary or Trans.

What many people don't understand is that all the so-called woke white people, the people you think are soy-boys and girls, are actually the real white supremacists.

Who is mainly calling for defunding the police? White liberals

Who put the bricks in rioting neighborhoods and tried to hand them out to blacks? White liberals

Who are mostly the ones protesting and tearing down statues? White liberals

By doing this, they are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy that blacks will tell themselves they need to separate from "racist" whites, that blacks need their own groups. Pretty soon, you're going to start hearing calls by white liberals for American blacks to have their own country within America. Bank on it.

All by design

What he means is he cannot be elected because of racism in the district.

Unfortunately most of us, who have successful lives in the private sector, want no part of being involved with government.

So we’re stuck with the rejects who actually can’t make a living outside of being in politics.

Well it sounds better than “I was polling around the margin of error and I’m not actually sure any of you know my name”. This is magnanimous, while the truth would just be sad.

This article reminds me of when Hillary forced out a black candidate so she could become Senator.

How about communities that have no Section 8 housing but are 90%+ white and vote 75%+ for Dems on the national stage? Put the inner city “people of color” in those spots.
