Our universities have nurtured and foisted on America and Canada an extreme radicalism that vilifies American and Canadian history, society, and culture. This radicalism stems in the first instance from identity grievance studies programs, such as feminist and gender studies, gay and queer studies, black studies, Hispanic and Chicano studies, indigenous studies, and ethnic studies, which have adopted marxist theories popular in sociology and political science.
This far left ideology has diffused throughout the soft subjects of the social sciences, humanities, education, social work, and law. Far left radicalism has been adopted with enthusiasm by administrators and imposed on any laggard or dissenting students and professors by the many “diversity and inclusion” commissars whose salaries could have funded many scholarships and professorships in STEM fields.
Of what does this extreme radicalism consist? Substantively, it claims that America and Canada are evil, beginning life in sin as slave owners and colonial settlers who engaged in genocide, and continuing on those paths until today. But even in this theory all Americans and Canadians are not evil: only whites, males, heterosexuals, and Christians and Jews are evil oppressors. Females, people of color, LGBT+, indigenous natives, and Muslims, in contrast, are virtuous victims, and deserve to take the reins of control.
Universities have instituted policies that provide preferences and benefits, such as admissions, funding, and professorial and administrative posts, for females, people of color, LGBT+, indigenous natives, and Muslims, while sidelining, marginalizing, or entirely blocking white males, heterosexuals, and Christians and Jews. East Asian Americans and Canadians are sidelined and blocked, not because they are evil, but because they are too successful, thus taking places and resources that universities prefer to give to others.

I’ve been thinking about this lately. In a land where freedom of speech is honored, how is leftist indoctrination reigned in? Maybe the same rules that apply to broadcast media: allow time for opposite views.
Defund the universities? Count me in.
1. Former officers must flock to the unorganized militia. There are so few they are an oddity, and the unorganized militia is so unorganized as to be ineffective.
2. Education must be flipped to classic American education, or no public funding. Shut the indoctrination centers down and get back to excellence.
3. All sheriffs must be vetted to ensure they are constitutional sheriffs. They are the last elected official that can decide constitutionality and deputize en mass to restore order.
Great idea.
Universities are the absolute worst investment in the United States today, particularly the humanities.

Astronomical tuitions are paying for “ offices of diversity “ on every campus, and indoctrination into Marxism by nerdy professors who couldn’t run a lemonade stand.

Universities are not the problem.The radical anti-American studies are the problem. Is it to much to ask that professors be required to swear allegiance to the United States?
We definitely need to reduce funding for Communist indoctrination. So, I therefore propose:
(1) All federal student loans, loan guarantees, and loan programs are ending, effective at the beginning of the next academic term. The federal treasury doesn’t have any money to lend. Borrowers must pay their loans according to the terms thereof. Effective at the beginning of the next academic term, any new private student loans are subject to discharge in bankruptcy seven years after the student earns a degree or ten years after the conclusion of the classes for which the student borrowed the money, whichever is earlier.
(2) All universities must reduce student payments to less than the take-home pay of a single independent adult person with no dependents or unusual tax circumstances (not blind or a senior citizen, no other income) from a full-time, year-round minimum wage job in the same state as the university campus where the student takes classes. The maximum student payment must include tuition, fees, room, board, books, supplies, and any other charges necessary to pursue a degree (including required health insurance if applicable). The university may charge the student only for weeks in the academic year and not for breaks. For example, if a 3-credit class meets for 60 minutes on 45 days during the semester and for a final examination, the university may charge tuition only for 16 weeks. At $400 per week and two semesters per year, that results in a maximum student charge of $12,800 (probably still too high, but much less than the $80,000 or more that some institutions now bill). The university must offer students enough classes with the maximum charge to graduate in four years.
Poor students can take a Pell grant of $6,345 and a federal supplemental equal opportunity grant of $4,000 and a federal work study of $5,000 per year. This combination covers essentially all their expenses. This plan therefore opens university to a diverse array of Americans and not just to the supremely rich and well connected.
How will universities comply with the new tuition-collection rules? That’s their decision, but they probably will have to slash their administrative bureaucracy, cancel the promotion of all manner of sexual impropriety, quit offering “safe spaces,” eliminate their diversity bureaucracies, rethink unnecessary construction projects, and restructure their super-luxury accommodations. They also can beg their alumni, donors, and state legislatures for funds.

No. The Arts and Sciences are filled with red diaper babies and their offspring. Just about every department is a propaganda machine. Gender and grievance studies could not exist without the support of A & S.
The A & S faculty want diversity but they don't want them in their department. Thus you have gender and race based programs.
