This is what I’ve been thinking. My minister told me that same thing, God is in control. And I didn’t get a chance to say back to him just what you’ve said. And I agree with you, WE have to stand up. I do believe there’s more to “render unto Ceaser” than just paying your taxes.
Not sure what we need to do, but we also can’t think that re-electing Trump, although essential, is enough.
I’m actually starting to doubt this is all about Trump, it seems a little extreme to be all about that.
The Rs need to get on some anti-trust stuff with Twitter, Google, et al.
People, like that woman in the WaPo story, need to start suing.
But, there’s something more that needs to be done, and I don’t know what it is.
The media, they are really the enemy. I think they are dying, but not fast enough. The only thing I can think of it to support alternative media, like Free Republic, the American Spectator, etc.
But I don’t really know. I’m quite despairing actually.

I have been reading quite a bit about ministers not being willing to lose their 501c3 status by speaking out—but I remember when there were preachers on the radio talking about what the government was doing and organizing resistance. Would your minister and the congregation be willing to do without the tax break?
I want to mention to you that there is a book-BE THOU PREPARED that might be of use for you. It explains and uses biblical passages and history for the role of the Church in times of trouble and modern day logistics etc.

If a tornado siren goes off, your Minister would take shelter would he not? He wouldn’t just shrug and say God’s in charge would he? If a hurricane was headed toward his house, would he not board up, and prepare?
Well we have all sorts of warnings going off with respect to our Republic, everyone needs to prepare spiritually, and practically for their family. The ministers need to do their part. A good sheppard is expected to guard their flock-not just shrug and say God’s in charge.
That’s just my opinion though.
All of this talk of civil war and race war is a carefully crafted psy-op.

Good point, during an eighteen month period in the early 70s, we averaged 5 bombings per day and cities were burning during the Weather Underground days. Feds eventually caught and disrupted the networks. Wasn’t even close to a civil war that commies wanted to start.
Thanks, that is interesting about the book. My pastor is pretty good, he knows these people are commies. Would he say that from the pulpit, I doubt it. I’m not even sure I think he should do that.
This is really a terrible time, much worse that 1968. I mean I was just a little kid, but I don’t remember elected officials and the MSM making common cause with the rioters in 1968.
I first realized during the Kavanaugh circus that the Dem party cared nothing for truth, they just didn’t care. That was a disturbing realization.
But now it seems plain that large segments of our society’s “leaders” are willing to actually destroy people’s lives and livelihoods in order to gain power. And some of these people are just insane and/or imbecilic. AOC, et al. come to mind here.
For the first time in my life I feel like I really do not know what is actually going on.
I mean, not for nothing, but *why* did Obama and Co. feel it was necessary to destroy the Trump presidency, because surely that was what they intended. I get it that people don’t like Trump, but I think that’s mostly an issue of style and demeanor. I doubt Obama, et al. wanted to destroy him just to keep the flood of illegals coming in. Was it to help the Red Chinese? That doesn’t really make sense to me either.
And now I think I sound like some crazy paranoid. And that was just how Rod Dreher sounded in a piece he had out the other day. Talking about how they’re going to get rid of cash and put us all on a Social Credit system like China. I mean he sounded nuts, and he’s usually pretty sober.
Then I heard good old Frederika Matthews Greene (remember her, she was big in Feminists for Life, but she says she’s not a Feminist anymore) on Jonathan Van Maren’s podcast (which is pretty good btw) saying that she thought in the near future religious people would be kept out of the professions, like doctors, etc.
These things are hard to imagine, but they have certainly happened in other countries as our original poster pointed out.

Well, I am older than you, and in many ways the 60s and 70s were worse. And the journalists were protective of groups like the Black Panthers-just not so obvious about it.
And after the Tet offensive, which we really won, and which IIRC, the North was ready to negotiate, Walter Cronkite said we lost and it was time to leave.
We did have some good leaders, but within about a year, they were all assassinated. JFK, RFK, MLK, Nixon was drove out by the press, Reagan was shot. There was the cuban missle crisis, and the cold war where we had mutually assured destruction capabilities.
I think it was worse in many ways than it is now. What makes this seem so bad is the beyond spectacular PSYOPS the media is able to pull off now. And Social Media amplifies things it makes it seem worse than it is.
The CIA using accusations of Russian Collusion got rid of an Austrailian PM, and another PM who was from Britain. Its a thing they do. Obama and his cohorts and Intel agencies never thought HRC would lose, so they had not really been clever at hiding their crimes and get rich schemes—they knew that they would not be able to control Trump-no way to blackmail him, and that he would find all the crap and how they had betrayed us all.
Plus he is reversing Obama’s crap. Bye Bye social medicine and control of the courts. So they hate him, but most of all they want to control him. My 2 cents.
Yeah. And Reagan ride a wave of counter-counter culture to the White House. Forty years on, we’re looking at another opportunity. These things move in cycles. A hundred years ago, bombs were going off in America. Anarchists. Fifty years ago, Commies. I think our biggest threat will be from foreign enemies taking advantage of our divisions. It’s in the nature of America to have dissenting views.
Don’t misunderestimate yourself.
But, we had a real FBI back then.
The current radicals don’t need to bomb anything. They have the support of the political infrastructure in major cities and can go on removing monuments and strong arming institutions, threatening ostracism. People are just falling in line. If the Weatherman attempted to pull down a monument in front of the White House they would have been arrested instantly with the overwhelming support of both parties. Not any more.
There were always millions of “Weathermen” in this country. But they went stealth, looking and acting like normal Americans, but just waiting for their time. They infiltrated all our Institutions: media, government, even Churches.
Well, now they believe their time is here.
The riot marched down the street just 2 miles from where I live in N. Tampa. Windows to pharmacies, jewelry stores, a Target and a Walmart were busted out. The looters liberated $110k of electronics from the Walmart.
Our local sporting goods store was destroyed by fire, and one of our local gas stations was set ablaze (fortunately the fire didn't reach the underground fuel tanks).
A few days ago they faked a police call and a couple of hundred "protesters" ambushed the police with bottles and bricks.
So, yeah, it's affected me .. and I'm already planning to be moved out by Sep 1.
