This is a question. If any person while protesting engages in property damage (which is not protect speech) and then arrested and convicted they should not be qualified for student loan programs.
How does one communicate this to our elected officials? Since student loans are controlled by the executive branch, can an executive order bypass the do nothing house?
Just asking because it seems even the conversation would give these rioters pause.
Even if they are out of school, if they have loans then they should be disqualified from repayment forgiveness programs.
A good topic for a discussion we’re having on another thread about just what the hell Betsy DeVos has been doing for 3 1/2 years.
Teachers are part of the student loan forgiveness program. If a teacher, not unlike the two NY lawyers who burned a police car, is convicted of similar actions then that teacher should not be benefiting from having their taxpayer funded student loan forgiven.
DeVoss is dealing with crazy unions and corrupted universities and school systems. This would give her leverage to do SOMETHING to stop them.
I think if they are convicted of crimes during these riots; they should be ineligible for future loans, current loans canceled and any student debt loans called immediately.
So how do we communicate this to someone in congress or to the executive branch for action.
The question is how do we DO and not just talk?

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head though that the nexus of violent Leftism in this country is the college campus.
Making rioters ineligible for loans or loan forgiveness is a rational first step. But it needs to go beyond that. These kids are being trained, directed and given material support by faculty, who sit in safety back at the Ivory Tower while their storm troops go out looting and pulling down statues.
Daily 5AM Roger Stone perp walks of professors should have started three weeks ago IMO. They’ve been crowing about their radical activities online for years, so it’s not hard to identify them. And ALL funding to the schools who allowed this should be cut.

This is not about the actual colleges but rather those students tying chains around statues.
They are acting with impunity because the bureaucrats and the elected officials and the media is supporting them with silence.
Their parents have guaranteed these loans. If little karen antifa suddenly has no more loans or can not have them forgiven it sends a message that rioting has direct consequences.
This is why an executive order or a legislation start is needed.
