Please don’t spoil the message. Campaign staff please go thru the lines and ask that no rebel flags are flown. Anti-Trumpers are sure to have them there to stage for the media. Be smarter than the other side.
I am pretty certain I heard a radio news item today that leftists pulled down a statue of Geo. Washington in Portland and defaced it. So it is beginning already.
I doubt any of the assclowns who defaced the 54th Mass monument could tell you who and what it was about.

After Goldwater was nominated in ‘64 and the delegates were milling around and moving out a band was on stage and it played a medley of what used to be called ‘patriotic popular music’. One number was Dixie. The TV whores showed the clip of the band playing Dixie over and over with narrative that said this followed the Goldwater nomination. Suggesting there was a connection and BMG was a racist. The rats are always on the watch.

Exactly. Since the Left criticizes anything and everything that their political enemies do, why should we capitulate on any point for the sake of “optics”? And more importantly, if we’re willing to let the Left ban the rebel flag today, we’ll be letting them ban the American flag and anything else they disapprove of tomorrow.

Thank you for saying that. You know what, my whole life I’ve heard this bit about some huge number of people deciding within the last week who they are voting for. I just don’t believe it. I believe it less now than ever. How is that even possible? It isn’t. If it is, those people should not vote. They are too ignorant. Yikes, I think a lot of people probably are that ignorant. Now I’m sad.
Rolling over means telling people they can’t, or shouldn’t fly the Confederate flag at a Trump rally, or any other event because the left and the media will find it offensive, and focus on it. If only one flag appeared, the media would focus on that one flag only...nothing else. If everybody waved an LGBT rainbow flag, they’d bitch about that too. It’s what they do. Anything we do is offensive to them anyway. I’m not into catering to the left, because no matter what you do, whatever concessions you make, it will never be enough. Look at the way they’ve tried to make the Gadsen Flag a racist symbol. They tried to claim the Pepe the Frog character was racist. Every fricking thing they don’t like is racist. If somebody wants to bring the Gadsen flag or the Confederate Battle Flag with them to a rally or protest, that’s their business, their choice. Not mine.

Those who fought for the Confederacy were incapable of committing treason against the United States of America as they were in fact citizens of the Confederate States of America at the time.
We know that the United States Congress considered this to be the case during the war as they admitted a new state to the union named West Virginia in June of 1863. West Virginia had seceded from the state of Viginia and declared itself a state. Article IV, Section Three of the U.S. Constitution states as follows...
Article IV, Section 3
1: New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.
Since Congress allowed the admission of West Virginia during the war, they could only have done so if they considered Virginia no longer a state within the union. This resulted with the soldiers fighting for the Confederacy being classified as foreigners and not citizens of the United States at that time. You can't call them traitors as it was impossible for them to commit treason against a foreign country.
Okay, Yay, you said something. My opinion is that any attempt to make the Trump rally about the Confederate flag is a bad idea. There will be one there. There will also be at least one, right out of the box, Nazi flag there. The media is going to focus on them. Why make it easier on them? Sure, if somebody wants to do something, then whatever. People want to do dumb stuff all the time. Yes, everything they don’t like at any given moment is racist. Don’t make it easy for them. Make them attack the American flag. Make them look absurd. The only people worth convincing are white people in the middle. The American flag is their only symbol, unless it’s their NFL team jersey (just threw up a little).
How the hell is that perspective “rolling over”? Like a dog? F you. This is a Trump campaign event. He’s trying to win. I want him to win. We disagree as to the best way to make that happen. Unfortunately, we probably see eye to eye on a lot, but ... there’s the Rover issue. Eat one. Jackass.
