Get a rope!

Perhaps a chain is more appropriate in this case.

1 chain = 66 ft., so 1 foot per roll.

It must be raw cost (although I still don’t see how 66 rolls would do it) or something is in the law about theft of emergency supplies...

Value in $?

Went to a box store this morning and they had all the TP you want, just a sign saying no more than two packages (of 12 rolls).

[$65 is felony theft??]

Yeah, that seems a bit excessive.

Though, yeah, stealing all that toilet paper is bad.

My wife and I were joking yesterday about using points to get a hotel room and stealing the toilet paper.

“Felony theft is committed when the value of the stolen property exceeds $1000. Regardless of the value of the item”

Standard Definition

Now you know why you can’t trust newsweek.

Six months ago Black Friday was for stereos, TVs, electronics, toys, etc.

Now Black Friday is for toilet paper, hand sanitizers, paper masks, etc.

What makes it a felony theft?

It's not the value; it's the victim:

Hernandezcinto was charged with theft from a public lodging facility, a third degree felony.

He should have stuck to pilfering Walmarts.
