Tucker Carlson Calls for Senator Burr to Resign and Face Prosecution Over $1.7M Stock Dump Unless He Has an ‘Honest Explanation

There has been outrage across the political spectrum over a shocking report that Senate Intelligence chair Richard Burr (R-NC) dumped as much as $1.7 million in stock just before the market tanked, despite publicly maintaining that the government was on top of the coronavirus. Thursday night on Fox News, Tucker Carlson completely tore into the senator from the Tar Heel state.

In a scathing end-of-show commentary, Carlson called on the senator to either justify his actions, or step down and be indicted.

“Maybe there is an honest explanation for what he did,” Carlson said. “If there is, he should share it with the rest of us immediately. Otherwise, he must resign from the senate and face prosecution for insider trading.”

AND bought stock in a teleworking company.

She’s an utter disgrace. Completely indefensible. Both of them must go ASAP.

“Burr is a turd but he is ours”

He is a never Trumper from a solid red state. His replacement will be better.

He targeted Trump’s son during the Russia investigation. I’ll never forget.

No. Hate him. But for now we need his vote in the Senate. The gov of NC is a dem. Burr resigns and it’s a D Senator.

GOP Rep. Chris Collins Resigns From Congress Amid Reports He'll Plead Guilty to Insider Trading Charges

Republican Congressman Chris Collins of New York, who was indicted last year for his alleged role in an insider trading scheme, resigned from his seat Monday amid reports that he will plead guilty to federal charges on Tuesday.

Collins was arrested in August of 2018 after more than a year of Washington watchdog groups demanding a federal probe into his activities.

Corruption occurs in both parties. Has and always will. Every man has his price, greed is a powerful thing, does not limit itself to a (D) or (R) after one’s name.

All very true, but my point is the Ds get away with it most every time.

The Rs, not so much.

picture an organized effort by a group of people that sells trillions of dollars with of stock all at the same time. What would that do to the market?

Unless He Has an ‘Honest Explanation

I'm glad he added that little caveat. It's still innocent until proven guilty I think. We know of all the fake news stories recently.

It could have devastating impact.

In this instance though, there was plenty of reason to bail.

It was pretty clear the market was in store for a big adjustment.

Our economy was coming to a screeching halt.

So while I am sympathetic to the idea of instigated down side, I'm
not sure I could fault anyone for what happened here.

The way the media had hyped this up, there was no way this crash
wasn't going to take place, hating Trump or not.

Now we can take a sharp look at the media, and I think that's
no only called for, but way overdue.

I’m a smart guy...I think :)

But after about maybe 32 or 33, I couldn’t see things coming anymore.

Putting the pieces together to get the big picture.

I was very good at it from maybe 24 to 33. Made some $$ in the market.

Then it’s like some part of my brain shut down and I coud only see 2D.

At 51, I think that’s they will it will be until the end.

Maybe when I die I will find out why :)

Some numbers for Italy. Where the Doomers claim every other person is dropping dead.

Population: 60.48 million
Number of total cases to date: 41,035

That works out to 1 infection per 1500 people. Of those 41 thousand, 3405 have died, and 4400 have recovered.

Simply selling one's stock in the midst of a potential downturn is not evidence of "insider trading". Even before this thing fully broke, equity valuations were historically high and most companies were trading well above historical P/E ratios. Taking profit and pulling some money off the table in the face of potential market weakness is prudent.

Now is not the time to focus on this. We are holding the Senate by a razor thin margin. It would be a democrat wet dream if they could bounce some republicans from the senate without having to win an election. No need for us to do the work for them. This is a classic nothing-burger.
