Puerto Rico is instating a curfew and requiring non-essential businesses to close their doors, as the U.S. territory tries to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

“If we don’t act now with determinations and force, the consequences tomorrow will be even worse,” Gov. Wanda Vázquez said on Sunday during a national address.

The island of 3.2 million people now has five confirmed cases of the coronavirus, and several other cases are still awaiting testing.

Coming soon to a city near you?? ........... Here in WA state, schools are closed for 6 weeks. Fast food is going to drive-through only, many restaurants closed. .............. Unconfirmed.........contingency planning for quarantining the Seattle area. Look at a map, I-5 & I-90 & 2 railroad tracks are the only land routes in and out. They could do it. ........... In fact, a few years ago that actually happend for a few days because of flooding. ............ Hospitals in Seattle are "surge planning", training staff at hospitals how to turn away patients and prioritize what patients get ventilators........ .............. I resist panic, but examples like Italy and Iran are spooking the hell out of people here. Lots of hoarding, empty shelves all over.

They should be in pretty good shape, seeing how they still have the supplies from the last hurricane squirreled away in warehouses.

Are they begging for billions of $$$$ again?

This seems like a perfect time for Trump to appoint AOC as Czarina of PR

At least they have months of supplies still sitting in warehouses from that last hurricane.

Yup, those supplies are long gone, sold off and stolen.

The point I make is the level of thinking going on at leadership levels all over.
............
Look at New Rochelle, curfews and area wide quarantines are likely coming to us all. National Guard roadblocks???????

This level of thinking was already tried - Hitler, Stalin, China, Cuba......

A doctor friend of mine is in a meeting today where the hospital is going to stop all elective surgeries AND start cutting salaries of workers and doctors in order to have enough capital to handle influx of pandemic patients...and this is before there are any confirmed cases in the area.

Yup, we’ll get through this, at least most of us....

Makes me wonder if we will completely retreat from this medical martial law when it’s all over.

I’ve heard from many that their bone marrow transplants have been put on hold. Those are not really elective. There’s a small window of opportunity to have one. Blood cancer patients work to get into remission, and need it at that point. If they relapse while waiting - that’s a problem. So, Chemo has to continue. It’s a serious thing. Definitely not elective.

Here it is! What the left was waiting for! A disaster in Puerto Rico, so they can redefine it as a Trump failure. They are skilled at doing this. They were successful with Bush/Katrina. The entire news establishment will support the democrat party in their endevor.

When will the first public condemnation come out blaming Trump? I predict, tomorrow.
