No, it isn't. We want to keep the healthcare system from becoming overwhelmed. If we slow the spread, through social distancing, it greatly helps in that cause.
FR's ostrich crowd is very disheartening. I have family who are at-risk, and frankly, I may be too. I swear many here, because they're retired, just panic at the idea of their 401K dropping value, more than they care about stopping a panic, or even the _future_ value of their 401K.
It’s about mitigation, not containment.
Agree, and PT qill help lead the country thru it. GOD put him there for this time.
Best post on this thread by about three orders of magnitude.
It’s all about spending your 401k on non-medical related stuff.
I had a guy earlier who ADMITTED that Drs he knew said that people in their 50s plus can be of great concern...but then acted like it was no big deal and we should not be allowed to discuss it at length
Their attitude will change when it hits their family
I dont panic. I live my life without the media choosing my fears. After this crazy panic is over, people from all groups are going to be hurt severely economically. There will be less money for social safety nets and old people will really suffer then.
Im at risk and im in the hospital treating patients....
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you. ― Joseph Heller, Catch-22
It’s also about legal exposure as well. Think about it.
I prefer Hide under the bed and piss yourself in abject, irrational fear and panic.
