Downtown and some other areas are closing due to lack of water today. This includes University of Houston

An eight foot water main is a big one - what happened to “Call before you dig?”

According to the news, a contractor was working with the city of Houston doing some exploratory work around there, moving some soil, etc. when the pipe burst.

Highways are being closed as well due to the amount of water being released.

We’ve had two water mains break in front of our house in 16 years.

A big oak tree root caused them both times. They won’t cut down the damn tree, just keep replacing the line.................

Devoted = developed. And it was just on a little garden hose, it couldn’t hold the pressure.

A City of Houston contractor caused the 96-inch water line to burst when soil was moved during work on a city project, according to AlertHouston.

How would you like to be the guy trying to figure out where to shut it off.

a 96” water main break would send a geyser hundreds of feet into the air and blow a MASSIVE hole in the area surrounding the break ...

Ha! They're worried about the 200-team BBQ cookoff at NRG stadium that's about to start, as a start to the rodeo month.

Oak trees and redwood trees are sacred here in California

you can’t even think about touching them

Being a solar contractor one of my famous quotations is “if you’re not a fan of the chainsaw, get out of the solar business!

We were just told to send half of our people home. We may end up sending the rest home before too long
