Officers with the Milwaukee Police Department said they're searching for the driver of a white Toyota who shot a 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy over the weekend.
The children were throwing snowballs at passing cars along with several other kids when they were wounded on Saturday night. Police officers responded to a call at around 8 p.m. and gave the children first aid until they were transported to a nearby hospital.
"One of the snowballs struck the suspect's vehicle and the driver of the auto fired shots into the group of kids striking the two victims. Milwaukee Police continue to investigate this incident and seek the unknown suspects."

From this excerpt, it appears my prediction about this being an all-Amish event was prescient:

If these were simply snowballs, no hidden rocks, etc. this is a very heinous over reaction. You really can’t SHOOT somebody for throwing a snowball at you or your car. You could YELL at them I suppose but shooting is right out.

Seems like an excessive response, also, wounded? The driver obviously needs more range time.
We used to throw snowballs at cars as kids. Residential streets. We were really lucky nobody ever caught us, we knew the backyards better. And that we never caused an accident.

50 years ago I did it all the time. It took some skill to stay hidden from the drivers who really wanted to find you.
God times.
Of course that was back when most kids played outside every day.
Tell me about it, I was born there and spent some of the best years of my youth bombing cars.
