Former NBC News employee Brooke Nevils claims in a new book that Matt Lauer raped her in a hotel room in 2014, a report said Wednesday.
The journalist discloses the sexual assault allegation in Ronan Farrow’s “Catch and Kill,” which describes how the former “Today” show host allegedly anally raped her in the hotel room during the network’s coverage of the Sochi Olympics, according to Variety.
Nevils said she was in Sochi to work with “Today” co-anchor Meredith Vieira when the attack occurred, according to Variety, who obtained a copy of the book.
She allegedly ran into Lauer during a boozy night at their hotel bar and went back to his hotel room after he invited her.

The thing that surprised me the most about the MeToo movement was/is the continued existence of the casting couch , both voluntary and involuntary. Apparently enough women and men want a chance at a Hollywood or media career that they will still put up with this behavior. I hope the abusers are learning that when the folks they abuse age out of the big time career, all bets are off, and the million dollar payoff then becomes the goal.
In other words she was a prostitute. She offered herself in exchange for some sort of payment. It's very difficult for a prostitute to prove rape.
It was, by her own admission, a "transactional relationship", meaning she was having sex with him in the expectation that he would do something for her in return, presumably help her get a promotion or better assignments.
When he failed to deliver what she expected, then she retroactively deemed it "rape".
