***“It was completely transactional.***

In other words, “How much? And are you clean?”

I see FReepers are throwing their enemies a lifeline. A woman trashes NBC News and Matt Lauer and you idiots trash the woman. Happens over and over.

I don't see any of this as "trashing the woman", it's pushing back against an allegation of rape that is not credible.

Rape, is a serious violation. Just being ACCUSED of it can ruin a man's entire career. In today's public discourse, it has been cheapened. This woman had an on-going 'transactional relationship' with Matt, before and AFTER the alleged 'rape'. That's not 'rape', that's opportunism, and it worked. She scored a 7 figure payoff.

This is a dangerous precedent to set, and it SHOULD be pushed back on and ridiculed. If people want to see that as "attacking the woman", then so be it. It NEEDS to happen to bring some sense of balance back to this discussion.

Laz, you’d better not hit this one. Not unless you’ve got 7 figures in your checkbook.

If this were truly rape, I would agree with you.

However, unlike the Democrats, I am not willing to cast aside Due Process and the Presumption of Innocence just because the accused is my political adversary. That is a hallmark of third world countries run by Kangaroo Courts.

Let’s examine the evidence, and let the charges be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

No, you do get it, I am done with whores who have regrets and attempt to blame whoremongers for their actions days, weeks, months, years, decades, etc. later. Do you actually think this a "liberal vs. liberals, lets sit back and watch NBC get destroyed because they are fake news" drama?

Legally there is nothing there along with the fact that Lauer was fired; basically just some whore with a sore anus who kept going back to the "punishment" and now all the sudden feels violate because some people have deep pockets for her story and possible civil suits.

The word “rape” sure seems to be thrown around willy-nilly these days.

“Despite the alleged rape, Nevils said she had more sexual encounters with Lauer when they returned to New York”

So, you are drunk run into a coworker who is also drunk, you go back to his room and have sex, and he during this time does something you claim is rape, and you keep getting together to have more sex?

Seems like a damn loose definition of rape to me.

I see FReepers are throwing their enemies a lifeline. A woman trashes NBC News and Matt Lauer and you idiots trash the woman. Happens over and over.

It is because both "sides" in this story represent the left. Lauer has always been a leftist tool, and seeing him embarrassed in this way is a good thing. However, the woman who originally had a rape case which she did not pursue and apparently parlayed into a paying gig is also a leftist. She attempts to make a retroactive rape claim which makes her a "me too" warrior for the left. Both people in this story are wrong and deserve a certain amount of trashing. Too bad a smart guy like you couldn't see that.

After the rape she went back to Lauer a few times, saying it was “transactional.

Does that make it "quid pro ho"?

Smart? I dunno. At least smart enough not to jump in and lend Trump’s enemies a hand when they’re on the ropes.

Well boo hoo for Matt Lauer and NBC. But if you want to go to bat for them, be my guest. I’m done here.

Anyone remember how Matt Lauer and NBC treated the victims of this fraudulent rape allegation?

Does Lacrosse Cause Violence? NBC’s Today Investigates “Aggressive”

By Scott Whitlock
April 21, 2006 4:03 PM EDT

Does lacrosse lead to rape? NBC’s Today show seriously investigated that question in the April 21 edition. Matt Lauer teased the story with this scintillating query:

Lauer: “And still to come, the Duke lacrosse rape case. Is there something about the sport of lacrosse that causes players to act out of bounds?”

Natalie Morales furthered this line of thinking when she introduced the segment at 7:32AM EDT:

Morales: “But first, Matt, the investigation into the alleged rape by some members of the Duke lacrosse team. It’s not the first time the players there have been in trouble and it has some wondering whether this aggressive sport leads to aggressive behavior.”

Lauer got what he deserved, fired, administrative law and Supreme Court opinions keep NBC from getting what they deserve. The slut got what she deserved, good, hard and raw from what she stated as well as liked it to the point where she kept going back to Lauer. What is your point?

Regardless of the debate about consent and power dynamics, all I can think about is what a condescending, smug, arrogant jerk Lauer was on the Today Show, and how he constantly acted like he was one of our moral betters.

I never saw what NBC saw in Lauer. He always was a smug, arrogant, condescending ass before he got the Today Show gig. As was Bryant Gumbel before him. Tom Brokaw was the last Today Show host worth a darn.
