The Princess Bride is a classic film, a national treasure that should be handed down through the ages, but according to Variety Sony is talking about a Princess Bride remake. My head nearly exploded when I heard this. Here is my rant.
How would they re-do the rescue of a Princess by a dashing swordsman..?
It’ll be The Prince’s Bride, who will rescue a lisping, gender-questioning Prince, and she’ll do it by swining around her 16 y.o. hair while pulling off insane karate moves, killing dozens.
Or the swordsman will rescue a BOY, then together open an elite antique shop on a mysterious, no-questions-asked island in the Carribbean..?
hollywood will compensate for a lack of new ideas by destroying a classic...
I don’t know. The remake of Ghostbusters was a smash hit.
Is it about two trannys who fight over who looks more woman-like?
Better to form stuff to not go see it. Then they waste money and actively have people working to lower their revenue while they’ve already spent the money on production.
Its time to end the idea that remakes and ‘gender redos’ are innovative and crrative and worth seeing. they are cheap and trite and have been done to death. Like shag carpeting.

That and there is little to no creativity in Hollywood.
If Hollywood was a computer it would be the Commadore 64 ... once a brilliant and well received product that languished for years while MBAs and bean counters sucked the consumer dry of every last penny they could. Only Hollywood gets to go on sucking year after year because it’s relatively rare for anyone to innovate (unlike with computers).
No creative ideas from Hollywood. Another retread movie.
