What a waste of tax dollars. Eww, I wouldn't let my dog drink from the pet fountain. It'll be turned into a urinal.

In America, the cost of government has risen faster than almost anything.

I was in the public library, when I was young. This native male drank from the public. He put his lips smack on the fountain itself and he made sure that he slobbered his spit all over every inch of the tap.

Got to have clean clean water for the junkies to use in their spoons when they cook their smack. Triple-filtered, reverse osmosis, purified and enhanced with minerals.

So it costs $100,000 each to run some water pipes to a drinking fountain?
No it doesn’t— most of that money would be siphoned off by the corrupt elites.

“make free drinking water more accessible for everyone.”

Or is it to provide drinking water to the homeless tent people they are now allowing in Austin?

$100,000 for each water fountain? Good gawd, what are they made of, gold?

Austin sounds like the Pentagon and their $50,000 hammers.

For some reason, this will not turn out as expected.

Their $1 million investment will be destroyed or ruined within a short while and these democRATS will have bupkis for their money.

Spend tax money is the job of elected/hired officials it seems

sometime back:

The city council on Thursday night approved a measure to pay a company more
than $100,000 a year to clean one single toilet in Austin.

Their new idea is one public bathroom. The city did a pilot program of the
bathroom last year, and now the city is thinking of bringing it back. However,
they need to keep it clean. The proposal would pay a company $115,000 a year
to clean the souped-up port-a-potty.

The toilet is portable, so it can move around as events require. However,
it would stay within a five-mile radius of the State Capitol.

They will hire at least 20 people to take care of them. Probably cost another million a year for that. It just never stops with these people.

The germs present all over a public drinking fountain are disgusting.

Never ever use one.

The medical knowledge we have is that one’s mouth is like a sewer.

Seeing people drink from public fountains nauseates me.

What a waste of tax dollars.

I don’t know. 10 fountains for $1,000,000 comes to $100,000 apiece (if my Common Core Math lessons taught me right). Amazon has ADA fountains/bottle fillers at about $1000 apiece (less the pet fountain). I think installation of these fountains will easily run to $90,000, don’t you? The money left over will just sort of disappear.

I used to teach my Jr High history students that if they really wanted to steal money, they should get into government. Buy everyday items at ridiculously inflated prices, use some of the extra cash to pay people to shut up and pocket the rest. If you can manage to snag a cent out of every $1 that passes through your hands, before long you’re looking at big money.

"What a waste of tax dollars."

I don't know.. Supply them from a separate tank and when the time is right you slip a little something extra in the tank and WHAM..!! You are a wise politician and have solved your homeless problem.. You shovel them up with a forklift, take'um to the desert and bury them...
See the future, be the future..... :)
