This is when neighbors, even the “nice” ones, become unpredictable.

Self Preservation takes control.

Looting, Panic, pillaging:

Baltimore?

Depends. Do the Bahamas have enough police cars?

I agree. I’ve heard that they are arguably the most xenophobic culture on the planet. Kinda like orthodox Jews of old (and new).

It pays to be one culture.

"Dude, that's a totally an unfair compairison! That's the Japanese MILITARY and that level of order is COMMON in military organizations, the world over..!

It's NOT the Japanese military.

It's a COMIC BOOK CONVENTION.

The rare wayward, whacko individuals in Japan who are unamenable to control? The guys masturbating in their moms' basements? THIS is those guys, lining up, all orderly.

THESE are the chaotic ones, the loner crazies.

And HERE is the full 1-min non-looped video of them, lining up:

DeplorablePaul :" He says to me, if the sh*t hits the fan, I’ll be over.
I says, oh no you won’t. I’ll be over to take your stuff.
To his credit, he armed himself after our talk."

Just make sure that you and your family are better protected than your neighbor.
You can't change who is your neighbor,
but you might want to encourage him to learn how and when to "prepp".
It may have been a flippant comment, on the other hand, he may be envious of your wisdom.
The Scriptures are have numerous warnings about jealousy and envy.
Better to encourage a friend, than to develop a potential enemy !

Hmmm....HOW....?

They, TOO, feel their own culture. It's not remote, not geeky, not something they're supposed to "get over", to shun. They live it, breathe it. And they're not electronically dominated by a tiny foreign minority that hates them. A hundred hurricane could hit them.

They'd be FINE.

Well I live in a retirement community. If ever confronted with a catastrophe like the poor folks in the Bahamas, with a complete break down in services and law, people are going to drop like flies.

Actually the repeated hurricanes warnings of the past few years has turned people into being less complacent and more prepper.

Bahamas residents form a militia to protect their neighborhood.

We are also learning of reports that, when survivors land in Nassau, they’re being told not to speak about all the deaths and seeing the many dead bodies all across Abaco.

Interesting...

We were just on Grand Bahama over the New Year’s holiday the island was still trying to recover from hurricane Matthew in 2014 and there were still many destroyed houses especially in the town of 8 mile

oddly there were giant hotels there they were completely empty and had been for years because obviously there’s been an economic downturn there

nearly 100% of the economy is tourism and with the growth of Nassau New Providence I think a lot of the tourist interest in that large goofy pine laden an island got diminished

the population Is about 90% black and even in the time there we noticed some sketchy behavior that wasn’t anything new for us dealing with city people our whole lives

but I can only imagine when all hell breaks loose what is going on there

Just as you find out who your real friends are when the chips are down , you find out the true nature of beef bowl with a crisis hits

They seem to be oddly honorable over there.

I think it is a good “odd.” That’s how we should act. But I have confidence that there are parts of the U.S. where people wouldn’t rob their neighbors and would help each other get through a crisis as well as share some food with a starving neighbor. A long term crisis might end all that, though.

True that !
I recall that scene from the "Twilight Zone".
It reminded me that all your neighbors aren't neighborly,
especially when they are jealous and envy whatever you have, and they don't.

Where’s Bahama man looting the booze? Water, water everywhere and not a drop to drink.

Time and time again and people still ignore warnings. They had plenty of time to leave. There were dirt cheap couple hundred dollar plane tickets being offered. If those with sea worthy boats had sailed to the west side of Florida or elsewhere to safe harbor, they’d have a boat with supplies along with someplace to live while their homes are being rebuilt.

Look around the neighborhood and see which homes are still standing. May not be much to salvage inside but the structure is probably livable. If you build a shanty, don’t expect it to last long.

Yes, indeed prep for disasters. Food and water in a concrete structure might have been there the next day vs. a cute little wooden beachy house.

Nothing but toothpicks. One would think they’d build sturdier structures. One foot concrete walls would have stood a better chance than wood.
