A trailer for an interesting Ukrainian-Russian movie from earlier 2010s. A story of the World's top sniper and an alleged dyke girlfriend of Mrs. FDR.

In fact she died alone in 1968 surrounded by dozens of cats. It was rather unusual for US at the time but quite common in USSR already. Still a worthy war hero to me.
Sorry, 1974.
Well, considering how many men they had lost between the Gulag and the War....
She is credited with 309 kills.
Nice story, amazing visuals.
I have no doubt it is 99% lies.
Even in the USA, stories about female combat prowess consists of 90% lies.
What might be the figure generated by the clique who generally controlled the Red Army and very specifically controlled Red Army propoganda..?
But did I like the song, story, and the hot actress?
Yes.
Even with Amelia Earhart:
She was shoved into her deeds, in most cases.
Her husband was a big-time promoter and at several junctures she was basically along for the ride, complying with his wishes.
He basically killed her for money.
In fact it is quite true for USSR since about 90% of all men born in 1922 were wiped out by 1943. Same or worse for Germany.
If you’d research the Soviet air force by 1944 in the bomber command an average pilot and navigator were 16 to 17 yo girls and they had a 14 yo boy for bombardier and 11 yo boys for ball gunners.
I personally knew a person who joined a Soviet navair aged 13 and his wife was an infantry shock troop aged 14.
It’s available on Amazon Prime streaming for those that have that option. Not as good as Enemy at the Gates but it is pretty good.
LoL Russia so feminist.
The Russians never tire of making WW2 films(they won the whole war single handed, ya know, they say so all the time). It’s the only real time their rotten system had any purpose.
And what Russian plane had a ball turret gunner?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petlyakov_Pe-8
The tail gunner had a powered turret with a ShVAK and, most unusually, there were manually operated ShVAK cannon mounted at the rear of each inner engine nacelle
LOL...........cue Ted Baxter :)
WELL...........WE'RE WAITING !
Maybe not the most correct definition most of the time although some had. Let’s just say gunners.
