I wish someone could bump the intergalactic “Dances With Wolves” knock-off.
I’m relatively alone disliking it. Gay promotion and trashing of the male white heroes, as well as ending their stories. Predictable and too much time spent on everybody being depressed.
The real question is how many tickets were sold.
Oh no you're not! It went on the "Unwatchable" pile about 20 minutes in. Hollywood is nothing more than a propaganda mill where the writers suck so bad they have to plagiarize old comic books but this one rates up there at the top on the "YUUCCH!" scale.
I finally saw “endgame” this weekend....
Sort of stupid and silly...
I have no idea what all the excitement was about...
I liked it. After seeing it a second time, I liked it more, sans as you mention the stupid homosexual scene at the beginning and the female PMS Amazon scene at the end.
But I have to hand it to the writers: they didn’t just wrap up THREE movies, they wrapped up (I think) SEVENTEEN if you include “Thor,” “Captain America,” “Ant Man,” “Iron Man,” “Guardians,” “Doctor Strange,” “Captain Marvel,” and the “Avengers”. That’s some feat.

Only because Avatar was released twice.
If they released Infinity War and Endgame a couple of months from now, it would top Avatar easily.
If you watched it as a standalone movie, as opposed to a series of all of Marvel’s movies, then it isn’t surprising that you didn’t care for it too much.
Even though it was a three hour movie, they had a hundred storylines to try and wrap up in that time.
Aquaman and Ant-Man and the Wasp were the two best comic book movies of the last 18 months. Better than either Avengers movie, Captain Marvel, Panther. Better. Jason Momoa’s unexpected comic talent and the combination of Paul Rudd, Michael Pena and Walton Goggins make it so.
I thought it was boring. A lot of time spent on personal relationships that I only half remembered the back story too. And I agree, the whole beer belly Thor thing was a shot at people who happen to be white.
Me, too, Larry. I liked them all. My favorites were the first Avengers and Winter Soldier. My least favorites were Thor II and Age of Ultron. Still, my least favorite here were better than most movies I saw in the past ten years or so.
Especially the war stories that are supposed to be real. Nothing ticks me off like seeing something in a movie that is supposed to be real with some late 20th Century/early 21st Century crap in it, like Pearl Harbor or Dunkirk. Or making up stuff that didn’t happen, like Churchill talking to the commoners on the Tube.
They should hire you as a consulting historian!
I love when FReepers piss all over each other’s personal tastes.
My favorite color is red.....10 FReepers will show up to tell me I am wrong.
That is what these movie discussions always turn into.
Monkeys With Mohawks
waiting for some wonk to explain how given Hollywood accounting this is not in profit.
Through recommendation of someone on this site, my husband and I started watching “person of interest.” We are on the 5th season and will be through very soon. It is really great. Is there another series someone can suggest that is as good as this one? We get it through Netflix.
Hate what they did to Thor because he was s toxic white Male. Thor gives the kingdom to a black woman because “I’m not a leader, you’re a leader. She was never depicted as a leader.
Of course Captain America was put out to pasture and turned the Avengers over to a black guy with no powers.
It’s implied Captain Marvel is a lesbian.
The gay director appears early in the movie as a gay guy.
I didn’t like what they did to black widow or Gamorrah, either.
Thats because they are smart and are adjusting for inflation. I had some emotional moron who was somehow invested in Avatar staying number one who was infuriated when I showed him the adjusted rankings. Why do you have to do that? Just let me enjoy the rankings!
21 movies. Though it didn’t truly “wrap” them up since the next phase starts in a couple of weeks. But it bring all the stories to one place, where they will now spawn anew.
