Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a top member of the minority party in the upper chamber, met recently with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at a time of escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran. The two had dinner around the end of last month when Zarif was visiting the U.S., sources told Politico. Feinstein's team said the dinner was designed to update the senator on the situation between the U.S. and Iran and was "arranged in consultation with the State Department." A State Department official said the agency did not ask the California Democrat to meet with Zarif, but did not deny discussions had taken place about it.

sitting senators are allowed, no, they are expected to meet with foreign ministers and ambassadors from other countries.
that’s why the accusation against jeff sessions that led him to recuse himself was so completely ridiculous.
I doubt the State Department gave the woman who didn’t know she had a Chinese spy working for her for 20 years, the approval to meet with a representative of our worst enemy.

Although “Death to America!” is one of the Mullahs’ all-time favorite slogans, it doesn’t seem to bother her fellow Democrats or the liberal media that Dianne Feinstein, Ranking Member of the Senate Intelligence Committee with many state secrets to share, has been meeting with the foreign minister of Iran.
Does she regularly meet with the foreign ministers of U.S. allies like Britain, France, or Israel? No. She’s not interested in foreign policy; she’s not on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. She’s interested in U.S. intelligence, our state secrets, and the Foreign Minister of Iran is interested in them too. So they must have a had an enjoyable dinner together.
I wonder why the Communist Chinese wanted her to meet with the Iranians?
