Someone is trying to start a race war to distract from what’s going on in Washington.

You keep repeating the left-wing’s largely discredited characterization of Hoover as a cross-dressing homosexual.

Hoover hated the civil rights movement and Martin Luther King. I’d expect the FBI files to reflect what Hoover wanted to hear and believe, and that the truth is somewhere in the middle.

“...conducted by the Prancing homosexual dressed in women’s clothes J Edgar Hoover.”

Actually, Jack Barsky (German intelligence officer) said that was a rumor the Soviets planted. They were thrilled - and surprised - at how well it succeeded. They needn’t have been. There were plenty of fellow travelers here who were happy to repeat it until it was believed as common knowledge.

“The last thing we need to do is to destroy the image of someone they (all of us) do know. MLK’s message is beyond his reality.”

The newspaper publisher justified hiding the truth by saying: “When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.”

The news media still says that.

I disagree.

Interesting how many comments indict the FBI or Hoover for the revelations about King’’s behavior. That’’s an old Leftist tactic to attack those who reveal the truth instead of those guilty of the behavior. Through his entire life King showed himself to be a man of dubious morality, a consummate and compulsive liar. He got away with it because the media protected him with greater fervor than it did even with Obama. Then, too, to say even an unkind word about St Martin would leave the critic buried under an avalanche of charges of “racism”.

Ralph Abernathy wrote “And the Walls Came Tumbling Down” in 1989 which was the story of MLK and himself. He was ridiculed for reporting the infidelity of MLK.
