Justin Amash primary challenger: He 'has more in common with Rashida Tlaib’ than GOP voters

In the aftermath of Rep. Justin Amash, R-Mich., calling for President Trump to be impeached over the findings in Robert Mueller’s report from the special counsel’s investigation, he is now going to be facing a primary challenger. State Rep. Jim Lower announced his candidacy on Sunday.

Speaking with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on Monday, Lower further explained why he is running against the five-term congressman. […]

“You know at this point, Justin Amash has more in common with Rashida Tlaib than he does the average Republican primary voter in the district. So, we are going beat him on this issue, but we’re also beat him on the fact that in ten years in Congress, he’s gotten one bill passed and it was to rename a post office. Completely ineffective,” he said.

After posting on Twitter about his thoughts on impeachment, Amash did receive praise from Reps. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich. and Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. …

Jim is a two term State Representative. A young fella I met a few times while running his campaign for State Rep.

I sat and talked to him for 20 minutes or so at a local donation breakfast event. He seemed to have a good grasp of the issues but at that time I felt like he was trying to hard to get his message across. My advice to him was don’t let the swamp suck you in. :)

My wife and I voted for him.

I heard there are 2 challengers. That breaks the anti-smash vote into 2 come primary time. Guess what the end result will be?

Romney, in my view, was never one of us.

Sorry, Rep. Lower, but that is not correct. I completely disagree with Amash on impeachment, but he’s always been one of my favorite Members of Congress. He has an excellent voting record. Very different from Traitor Tlaib’s. She has a foreign loyalty; his is to the constitution.

sounds like a GOP (elite) ploy. Wanna guess who would be behind that tactic? Does the name DeVos ring a bell? Hmm, now who has supported Amash and does business in Asia? Quixtar? SCamWay?

Amash has a “Palestinian” background and is anti-Israel. Lots of RINOs will vote the correct way and then pounce with their real agenda.

I’ve heard that only twice thus far, and not in any media.

How so? BOTH Amash and Tlaib swear up and down that their loyalty is the U.S. constitution and that Trump needs to be impeached because "the constitution demands it" (Tlaib even circulated a tweet to her colleagues with a book that makes the case for that), so there's no difference in there in using a "my voting record is solely to defend the U.S. Constitution" talking point to shield themselves for criticism for their treasonous actions/votes. They say they're just doing for "Constitutional" reasons and not because of any personal bias. They'd have us believe that the framers somehow forced them to vote the way HAMAS wants.

BOTH of them are likewise the children of Palestinian "refugee" immigrants, from a Michigan Arab community who vote the position of the Palestinian Authority far more than they vote the way American citizens want. Amash is loyal to communist China because he has invested critical businesses overseas in China to boot.

BOTH are vehemently against Trump's foreign policy, record on Israel, actions to crack down on radical Islam, immigration policies, etc., and have been outspoken against Trump since day one, long before the Mueller report or anything happened.

The only noteworthy difference is that Tlaib identifies as a Democrat and a Muslim whereas Amash identifies as a "Republican" and a "Christian". But doesn't change the fact he has far, far more in common with a Muslim Democrat than he does his "fellow" Christian Republicans.

You can’t get beyond the one thing Amash said because of your blind loyalty to the president, no matter what. If you look at Amash’s whole record over his years in Congress, he has a very high liberty score and a demonstrated fealty to constitutional principles.

Tlaib, OTOH, has a record that shows her utter contempt for the Constitution, America, and liberty. She clearly has a foreign loyalty — as does Omar — and I wouldn’t be surprised f she’s a foreign agent.

You have to look at the entire record.

Seriously?

Are you confusing with another FReeper or have you never read a single post I've made here?

Just for starters, I was probably the most outspoken poster AGAINST Trump's SCOTUS nominee. Not to mention I was an OUTSPOKEN NeverTrumper during the 2016 primaries and backed Ted Cruz until the bitter end.

I am the farthest thing from a blind Donald Trump fanboy. I support Trump when he's right and oppose him when he's wrong.

Unfortunately for you, your "conservative" Congressman joining with the RATs to oppose Trump's crackdown on radical islam and to suggest Trump committed impeachable offenses are example when Trump was right, and Amash, Tlaib, and the rest of their ilk are dead wrong.

Okay, where shall we start with the endless list of backstabbing pro-Democrat votes in Amash's "entire record"?

The fact Amash was the ONLY Republican to vote against Kate's Law?

The fact Amash voted "present" on the bill that ceased federal funding to Planned Parenthood?

The fact Amash was one of only eight Republicans to oppose a bill that included $5.7 billion in border wall funding?

The fact Amash opposed declaring a national emergency due to the uncontrolled border security crisis?

The fact Amash agreed with the RATS in supporting a repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act?

The fact Amash voted AGAINST a bill that required the Palestinian Authority to renounce violence and accept Israel's right to exist if they want to continue to get federal funds?

The fact Amash opposed President Donald Trump's 2017 executive order to ban citizens of seven dangerous terrorist regime countries from entering the United States?

The fact Amash voted AGAINST against the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act, which would have made it illegal for doctors to perform abortions based solely on gender?

The fact Amash supported keeping Obama's Transgender military 'Non-Discrimination’ Policy and opposed GOP efforts to repeal it?

Let me guess... he voted the way Nancy Pelosi wanted on all this stuff for "Constitutional" reasons, right?

Well, ain't it comforting knowing that Pelosi has such a "pro-Constitution" record these days.

Billyboy? A#1 Trump fan? You obviously do not know Billyboy my friend. LOL.

Anyway ,Liberty score, shmiberty score.

His record is really good on some things, BITES on others, he’s one of the worst “Republicans” on some things.

And he’s a vucking traitor calling for impeachment, are you kidding me? Whether Trump is your cup of tea or not that kind of garbage is unacceptable, full stop. SOB is putting out feelers to run as a Libertarian for President and help the democrats too (blackmail tactic to dissuade primary challengers?), only a complete POS would even consider something like that. He almost makes friggin Mitt Romney seem half-loyal.

He’s a Ron Paul bitch boy who used the GOP to get elected. Paulistians are practically a cult.

Some people think that number of votes in a certain direction count more than big votes in the opposite direction. Excellent post.

Imagine if the reverse happened and the Democrats had someone like that in their ranks:

The Congressman is named Dustin Danish of Missouri. Danish claimed to be a "democratic socialist" but got elected as a LaRouche supporter and kept casting crazy votes for Lyndon LaRouche to be house Speaker instead of Pelosi. On paper he claims to be a "secular Jewish Democrat" but he keeps casting maverick votes that help the Christian Coalition and he gets applause from Franklin Graham for sponsoring legislation to have prayer in public schools. Then he kept calling himself "proudly pro-choice" and "in favor of marriage equality" in public but nevertheless voted with the Republicans on numerous pro-life bills and voted to ban gay marriage nationwide for "constitutional" reasons because he said the government had no authority to "force" his personal beliefs on the entire population. Then started voting to overturn Obama's illegal alien amnesty, crack down on illegals, and deport them, and sponsors legislation to build a wall around Mexico. Danish joins the Congressional Progressive Caucus but didn't attend any meetings for a year. He breaks ranks with the Progressive Caucus and says there is good reason to impeach Obama over his executive order to grant amnesty to illegal aliens....

Need I go on?

The RATS would purge that guy from their party in a nanosecond. LIEberman was expelled from the RATS for far less.

Dustin Danish certainly wouldn't have leftist RATS on social media defending him and calling him one of the best progressives in Congress, like Amash has on our side.
