Sounds like the interval rate is now believed to be between 10k - 15k years.
Which means that Campi Flegrei is due for another big blowout at any time.

I visited Campi Flegrei a couple years ago. It definitely is an active caldera, smoking and hot. The surface just feels thin, and gives under ones feet. An unsettling sensation..
