Nothing pairs better with baseballand its wild and weird stadium foodsthan an ice-cold beer. But gone are the days of light lagers and limited choices. Major League Baseballs ballparks offer an extensive list of draft and packaged beers, from big-brand standbys to hyper-local breweries and ballpark-only brews. Beer prices are wide-ranging, too, from a $5 can of Bud Light at a Twins game to $19.25 for a 22 oz. premium draft beer at Oracle Park. Some ballparksincluding the White Sox, who will serve 77 different beers on Opening Dayhave beer menus akin to that of a specialty beer bar.

I’m from Milwaukee and I oughtta know
It’s draft brewed BLATZ beer, wherever I go
In kegs cans or bottles, it all tastes the same
The best beer is one beer, BLATZ is its name.

nearly a buck per ounce!? And people PAY that?
When I was growing up the local news anchor had a pilsner of beer on his anchor desk that he drank during the broadcast. I think it was Schaeffer but could have been Ballentine. They sponsored the newscast.
Tuesday used to be .25 beer night at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City, circa 1976. Double A Indians farm team.
I’d have a free ticket, hitchhike from Bayonne and have 2 dollars. They served Schaefer cans to anyone.
The AA hockey team in Wheeling, West Virginia still has dollar beer nites. A can of Iron City or IC Light or something similar. One of the better bargains out there.
Judging by the team they're putting on the field White Sox fans will need all 77.
Two things I miss: Drinking Stroh’s Beer, and drinking Stroh’s at Tiger Stadium.
Worked in a liquor store 40 yrs ago. A guy came in every night pulled 2 quart bottles of Iron City out of the fridge and said “best beer in Pittsburg”.
Poor bastards.
Troof!
Can’t beat $1 beer nights at Palisades Credit Union Park, home of the unaffiliated Rockland Boulders
Absolutely ridiculous, these prices, but it isn’t just baseball.
Haven’t had a drink at the last three concerts I went to at large venues.
Interesting... thanks, C19fan! :-)

I saw 30 pack of Strohs at the local wine store (It’s due to a rap reference)
When I was a kid, KCAU-TV in Sioux City had the weather sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon every night. I don't think the weather guy drank it, but he mentioned them going into the commercial of PBR.
Hi.
I have a beef with Tropicana Field.
Everything is $9. Beer, pretzel, nachos, candy, etc. Each $9.
Thank the Lord the restroom is free...when you can get in.
I hate Veerlander (j/k).
Go Rays!

Glaring mistake in this article: Fenway Park is THE oldest ballpark, built in 1912. Wrigley Field in Chicago -- built in 1914 -- is the second-oldest stadium.
Attend minor league baseball games if you can: AAA, AA, Single A, etc. You can often get some of the same IPAs, other beer, food, etc. and see some great baseball... all at discount prices. :-)
