wo officers involved in the fatal shooting of Stephon Clark in Sacramento, California, last year will not be charged, the district attorney announced Saturday.
The shooting of Clark, 22, in his grandmothers backyard on March 18, 2018, sparked protests. The two officers said they believed Clark had a gun and was in a shooting stance before they fired, but only a cell phone was found.
Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert said body cameras and other evidence showed that one of the officers shouted at Clark to show his hands, that they took cover during the incident and that they saw a flash of light that one officer believed was the muzzle flash of a gun and the other thought was light reflecting off a gun.
BISHOP SOTO CALLS ON SACRAMENTO TO TAKE TO THE STREETS
2:43 p.m.: Sacramento Bishop Jaime Soto attributed Clark and other young black mens deaths to a deeply frayed social fabric, and urged protestors to fight for educational and financial equality as well as police reform in a prepared statement.
Taking to the streets becomes the only recourse when public institutions fail to matter to those who are hurting. This free expression should be protected and respected by all those involved, Soto said in the statement. Voices on the street must also become votes in a ballot box, conversations at council and school board meetings, unison song in churches. Hands held while marching must become handshakes among neighbors, hands helping a stranger in need.

LAW ENFORCEMENT ASSEMBLING
2 p.m.: Law enforcement presence on the streets is so far light. But CHP officers are guarding the I Street on-ramp to Interstate 5, where protestors last year stormed the freeway and temporary blocked traffic during protests a few days after Clarks death. A half a dozen motorcycle officers are stationed at City Hall where the mayor and city council members are holding a press conference.

That social fabric is so deeply frayed it blocks the ability of some member of the public to process the repeated, unambiguous commands of law enforcement personnel.
Free stuff in 3,.....2,......
Thanks, yer bishopness. You sure helped defuse that tense situation. A regular kochleffel* you are.
* means literally ‘cooking spoon,’ or someone who adds nothing of substance to any situation, but sure can stir things up.
Make the video public. Then we can decide.
What do you think, null?
Just once, ONCE, I’d like to see the ‘Black Community’ LEADERS hold a protest that shamed the rest of their youth into getting it together, respecting Police and their Elders, working to make their own community better, even if it means helping Whitey out where he/she needs it.
Wouldn’t THAT be something? ;)
Thanks janetjanet998.
Of course. Next?
Usually they release the video if it exonerates them, and usually if nothing went to trial. If there's a trial and the video gets leaked, well...
According to the news video, one cop said “mute” right after the guy was shot. Then all the cops turned their audio recorders off.
That stinks. That just stinks.
I don’t know if this was a good shoot or not. But these days I’m no longer pro-police at all. The video below pretty much changed my way of thinking. Guy is asked for his drivers licence. Guy goes to get it. Guy gets shot.

Im a member of Bishop Sotos flock. Did I mention I dont give dime one to the annual diocesan appeal?
I’m astonished.
I watched her entire presentation. It was dark, he was on a lot of drugs, breaking car windows and sliding glass doors, was suicidal because of impending arrest for domestic violence, was in a shooting position when confronted, with hands out in front of him then advanced towards the cops. The videos showed all this. She presented some mobile records and internet search history to back this up. He was on probation at the time for robbery.
It was very well presented; I see it as suicide by cop.
This was a leftist communist cause célèbre.
Videos were available that showed what happened in great detail and the false narrative put forth.
