Will our Founding Documents provide adequate protection from a socialist takeover?

Where do you predict our country to be in 5 years? In 10 years?

Will it be determined by the current swing vote John Roberts? It appears to me that he has become the chosen replacement for Kennedy. If RBG assumes room temperature, will that be the determining factor?

Undoubtedly the 2020 election cycle will determine America's future. If..........and I hesitate to even consider the negative outcome, then what?

I tend to look at the future through the lens of Biblical Prophecy and how it could determine America's future. Personally I view the future heading towards a one world government, a one world religion, and one world currency. Everything else would be secondary puzzle pieces which would be determined by Prophecy.

My Hope rests in 1'st Thessalonians 4:13-18

Will we remain as the world's super Power? Where will China and Russia be in terms of military strength? Will Iran be taken out? Will that realign Sunni-shiite alliances in the ME? Will sunnies support and defend Israel? Will there be a ME peace treaty signed in the very near future? Which countries create the greatest threats to America in the near future?

Your views?

If the Senate was still appointed by the state legislatures as stated in the original constitution or the courts actually followed the law, then yes. As it stands, no.

If the socialists get power, the will consolidate it and the constitution won't stop them because they don't care what it says and nobody else will stop them.

Will our Founding Documents provide adequate protection from a socialist takeover?

They do not prevent it.They only make it more difficult. What will prevent it is a strong civilian population well armed and schooled in the advantages of freedom and capitalistic enterprise. Or Apres Trump le deluge.

First one was pretty good. Second was a video and I never watch video. This one seems to be a lame attempt at a vanity.

Where do you predict our country to be in 5 years?

In the next five years I expect laws to be crafted which
discourage the posting of vanity threads by n00bs and the general
misuse of this forum by n00bs, trolls, bloggers and homos in general.

I fully expect and will support legislation that causes n00bs
to be labelled as such and their posts flagged as questionable.

Do you have a blog?

Apres Trump c’est certainment le Deluge. The Democrats are not going to allow it to be screwed up again. They will manufacture enough votes to take the whole ball of wax and there will be no more change of party in power. How that works out on the street is open to question but the Republic and its Constitution will be over. It cannot be restored once definitively gone.

The documents? no.

The will to put all those advocating the destruction of our country under the dirt where the enemy belong? yes.

The documents themselves are worthless without the will, desire and ability to defend them to the wholesale death of the enemy that wishes to destroy them.

They weren’t enough to prevent the Kenyanesian Usurpation, because we had no one who would uphold the Constitution.

One of the founders said this was a government only for a moral people, we aren’t anymore.

I do not see this nation surviving that long, least in the form it is now...I suspect it will break up into regional counties.

NO. America's constitution will soon mean about as much as Bolivia's or Brazil's.

For me, our problems are based in our monetary system. Our currency is completely fiat and printed. It can be created out of nothing by the Federal Reserve and interest rates surpassed to zero. This creates massive power for government, and massive debt. Printed money, distributed by Government, is the life-blood of leftists. Massive government and 1000 social engineering schemes can't survive without it. This has been the case for 50 years, so many Americans have come to believe that there really is a magical money tree that we all can enjoy and share, and this fantasy is only obstructed by mean and racist conservatives.

This is not a new phenomenon in the world. Its why America's founders hated printed money and insisted on gold and silver as our currency.

If Kelo can be overturned, the Fifth amendment should protect from socialism, as least as far as seizing private property is concerned.

In this case, "private property" would be considered to be one's accumulated wealth, i.e., homes, land, cash deposits, stock and bond investments, etc.

The Fifth Amendment protection against takings was specifically for public use, that is, land for roads, schools, dams, bridges, etc. Kelo warped this view, changing "public use" for "public good." With this view of public good, municipalities took private property from low-property-tax-paying owners and gave it to high-property-tax-paying owners on the grounds that higher tax revenue was a "public good."

The question now is whether a liberal judge will find "emanations from penumbras" from the Kelo decision to claim that seizing your wealth properties gained via capitalism is a "public good" to jump-start a socialism regime.

This would also include nationalizing major private corporations, as well as publicly traded corporations. Seizing people's IRAs and 401(k)s would be a de facto nationalization of the companies whose stock shares are held by these savings accounts. A socialist government might insist that all stock shares be sold to the government at a 50% discount, because it serves a public good while still leaving the original holder some value.

We would need a strong Republican Congress and a conservative-leaning Supreme Court to honor the original intent of the Fifth amendment "takings" clause to limit it to real property and only for public use. This would prevent a socialist-leaning bloc from trying to transfer accumulated savings from Americans into the government treasury.
