A restaurant in New Zealand is being accused of “incredibly racist service” after a waitress allegedly wrote “Asians” on a table’s receipt in order to distinguish the group from others in the eatery.
A manager for the Falls Restaurant & Café, located in West Auckland, has since apologized for the incident, blaming it on a new waitress who “should not have done that.”
“We never do this and we will never do that again,” said manager Arvind Kumar in a statement obtained by Stuff.co.nz.
Kumar, however, also said that the customers were seated at an “unnumbered random table,” presumably making it more difficult to identify which table the patrons were occupying, though he acknowledged the message on the receipt was a “mistake.”
The woman who received the receipt, and who did not reveal her identity to Stuff.co.nz, told the outlet she has been a regular customer at Falls Restaurant & Café for seven years and never had a problem.
"As a group of 'Asians' born in this country, we were truly shocked at the restaurant for their incredibly racist service."
The woman claims she also complained aloud for the waiters to hear, “but no one acknowledged the situation or apologized,” adding that the servers “were totally ignoring us.”
The customer now says she’ll never return to the eatery, and has yet to receive a formal apology from the management.

And what do the indigenous people call everyone who moved to their isle from the East and West?
With a manager’s last name like Kumar, was she asserting that he was calling her Pakistani?
Sum Ting Wong stated “yes, I am Asain but calling me Asian is racist”.
I do assume that none of the offended party ever waited tables in a restaurant.
Wait - I thought Asian was okay, it was Orientals that was bad.
I hate the way these things just keep changing.
Imagine how much less news there would be everyday if people were not so thin-skinned.
I guess she’s showing the chink in her armor.
I don’t understand. They weren’t Asians?
But now, all of a sudden, after seven years of service, the restaurant has become racist.
Some people are just WAITING to be offended.
I am sick to death of people’s groveling over others perceived victimhood.
If I saw “FAT (you know what)” written on my check to distinguish me from others, I think I’d burst out laughing :)
I have REAL problems in life and don’t have the energy to waste on NONSENSE.
Took out an Irish girl on Staten Island maybe 30 years ago.
I’m blond/blue so I guess she thought I was Irish.
She said “This island was great before the WOPs came over from Brooklyn and ruined it”
Being a WOP :), I DID take her back home, but not because I was so offended, it’s just that i knew that the relationship could lead nowhere if she didn’t like my or my family’s kind.
It didn’t send me into a tailspin of drinking or days of outrage.
BTW, she was kind of right :)

The dirty little secret is that is one annoying demanding customer the restaurant is happy to lose.
They are just trying to make money off this. There is nothing racist about it.
The insanity is contagious.
