Jussie Smollett finally provided his phone records to the Chicago Police Department on Monday morning, hours after The Post reported his delay in providing the data.
Phone records from Jussies manager were sent to police on Feb. 5 and Jussies records were sent over this morning. Both were sent to Chief of Staff to the Superintendent of Police Robert Boik, who confirmed receipt, a spokesperson for the Empire star said in an email, 13 days after Smollett alleged he was the victim of a racist and homophobic attack.
They have Jussies records from within an hour of the incident. The police confirmed receipt of the records at [2:28 p.m. EST].
Cops requested Smolletts phone records to corroborate a call he said he had with his manager Brandon Z. Moore during the attack.
Both men allege Smollett was called a f-t and a n-r during the attack and both said they heard the words MAGA country, an apparent reference to President Trumps Make America Great Again slogan.
The police said they wanted the records so they could independently verify the two mens accounts, which is needed for a criminal investigation, but Smollett told police he couldnt be without his phone for several hours.

I wonder if the police can obtain a phone recording of the actual call.
Phone recordings are kept for a limited time by the phone companies.
The delay in releasing the records may be an attempt to insure the phone recording is not available.
This source says all telephone conversations are kept for five years! That was in 2013!
Such recordings may not be available to local police, such as the Chicago P.D., for example.
He erased a bunch of stuff.

...records from within an hour of the incident...? What the hell does that mean? Starting an hour AFTER the attack or an hour BEFORE?
Records
Records
Records
Did he deliver his physical phone? Did he fill out paperwork that would allow his telecomm carrier to communicate information to the police without violating privacy laws?
Maybe it’s me, but the writing here makes it sound like Jussie walked into the police station with a folder full of paper and said, “Here are my phone records”.
Why not give them the phone....?
Because there are many things on the phone he does not want the police to have.
“Phone records are not the same as phone recordings.”
Didn’t we go through all this before with a birth “record” versus a birth “certificate”, and a good number of freepers didn’t care about the difference?
Really...what, are they going to find out something incriminating like he is a homosexual or something?
Smollett was called a f-t and a n-r.
Damn those Fatalist Necromancers to hell.
Yes.
This is rather similar. But with the phone “records” police might now be able to get a subpoena for more information, such as gps data on the location of the phone call.
That could be correlated with video surveillance information. Even the precise time of the call might do that.
They should know how long the call lasted. Just when during the call the “attack” occurred might be difficult to know.
“When I first moved, my mother had all my haircut records sent to my new barber.”
Hate to tell you this, but phone conversations are NOT routinely recorded. Only if there is an existing warrant. Tower, duration, time, originating and terminating number and a host of other characteristics of the call are saved for 90 days. The source that says phone conversations are kept for 5 years is totally FOS.
Did this fellow use whiteout or a black marker on the phone records?
Why not give them the phone....?
Good one.

Metadata can and is saved by the phone company, but not the actual conversation unless they have a court order. What puzzles me is what could be on the phone that is not stored on phone company records. The phone could, theoretically, have a local recording. Maybe they want to see if he made a recording and then erased it.
This guy is a fake, phony, nut job....Everyone knows this. I’m from Chicago. Have a place off Rush street. There is no way, no way... this happened the way this guy said it did.
