Weeks after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., made headlines by calling for a top marginal income tax rate of 70 percent in an interview with “60 Minutes,” her fellow freshman congresswoman, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., suggested that the rich could pay even more.
“There are a few things that we can do,” Rep. Omar said in an interview with “Through Her Eyes.” “One of them, is that we can increase the taxes that people are paying who are the extremely wealthy in our communities. So, 70 percent, 80 percent, we’ve had it as high as 90 percent. So, that’s a place we can start.”
“The one percent must pay their fair share,” she continued.

Where doss the liberal talking point come from, that the rich aren’t paying their fair share?
If something is following our tax laws, filing accurate tax returns, and paying the required tax, aren’t they by definition paying their fair share??
As it is, about 85% of individual income taxes are paid by the top 20% of all taxpayers. Almost half of all workers in this country pay no federal income tax at all.
And in high tax California, about 1/3 of all state income tax is paid by about 10,000 high income individuals, in a state of almost 40 million people.
We have a progressive income tax system, which reflects the liberal desire to tax higher income individuals at higher marginal tax rates. So what more do they want???

When tax rates were 90 per cent there were a gazillion deductions. Those are all long gone.
The important thing whenever listening to an idiot try to make a case for something, what they leave out is usually just as important or more, than what they include. I doubt she’s more than dimly aware of any of this, she has been instructed what to say and that’s about it.

Here’s a law to consider: if you will not put your hand on OUR Bible and swear to PROTECT AND DEFEND OUR Constitution, then you don’t go to Congress. You don’t belong there.

If the government takes 90%, let’s say the state takes 3%, the city takes 2%, the county takes 1%, that leaves 4 cents, more or less, on the dollar. Most people who pay taxes are already taxed in the 50 to 60%, when all is said and done, range and they are not even billionaires.
So what’s another 36% off the top? /s
She knows dang well the rich get around income taxes...
And she’s yet to propose a confiscatory wealth tax.

I think it’s time for a mandatory 3 day mental health hold for this nut case to determine if she’s fit to walk among normal people at all. She should probably be admitted permanently until they can cure here extreme mental illness.
