GULF BREEZE, Fla. (WKRG) - The newly-elected mayor of Gulf Breeze has resigned amid an inappropriate texting scandal. David Landfair sent a letter to the city council and citizens of Gulf Breeze this afternoon. News 5 was able to obtain a copy of the letter from South Santa Rosa News.
It reads in part:
"I must admit to an error in judgment by engaging in inappropriate texting with an adult woman. I have caused embarrassment to my family, friends and supporters, and I do not wish to spend my term as mayor defending my texting or dragging the City into discussion that distracts from issues and projects of greater importance."
Landfair was elected in November 2018 and has been on the job less than two months. He has served on the Gulf Breeze City council since November 2010.
Mayor Pro Tem Cherry Finch is now acting mayor.
Democrat?
I’m guessing he is a Republican. As he had the common decency to resign.
Democrats don’t resign when caught. They lash out at Repubs who get caught, but they themselves use the old double standard and they won’t go away.
Buy a smartphone, and then get stupid.
So-called public service does not attract the best and the brightest.
These are the people who feel qualified to run our lives.
Rule of thumb:
If party affiliation isn’t identified, then Dhimmicrat.
In Florida, we have ‘non-partisan’ local offices..............
I agree he is probably a Republican because he has the ability to feel shame. Democrats dont have that ability.
Couldn’t find anything about his party affiliation but found this nugget:
“Landfair holds a degree in political science from Florida State University, and is currently a Junior ROTC teacher at Gulf Breeze High School. He is a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel whose military service includes flying combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Did his sexting partner threaten to 'out' him?
Did his wife find the texts and threaten to 'out' him?
Was he using a Gulf Breeze city phone to do the sexting?
Was his sexting partner a city employee or member of the city council?
Did he have an unlimited data plan?
Did he have an unlimited data plan? ..............LOL!.............
The office is non-partisan, but the woman he defeated is a conservative Republican activist around Pensacola.
Great judgment there, former mayor. Who elects these losers?
He’s a registered Republican (see voterrecords).
...with bad judgment.
In the breeze, that is, but not in front of your phone cam.
Thanks.
Next question was he a repubie like McCain?
