The increasing cost of the latest iPhone models may be starting to make sense.
An internal United promotional sign has leaked with details about the companys top business accounts. The most notable takeaway: Apple spends $150 million a year with the airline.
Thats a lot.
Curious who are @United largest global corporate accounts? @Apple is in the top spot and contributes very much to success of SFO international flying especially the Shanghai service #UnitedAirlines #United #Apple #SFO #PVG #Shanghai #China pic.twitter.com/HNvIrz8wDg

50 per day - roughly 18,000 a year.
Assuming round trip - $8500 each ticket.
Not bad.
One needs to keep an eye on one’s yellow slave force.

I assume for $8500, they’re not flying coach.
Just young, progressive, socially conscious, non-materialistic idealists trying to save the world - one new power cord configuration at a time..
You can fly business for less than that if you are a corporate account
Interns might be but certainly not any of the execs and middle management.
Only a quarter of that goes to those flights, so more like $1900. Not that surprising for corporate travel, and Apple of course much more a manufacturer than Google or Facebook.
Read the article—it is significantly less than that per ticket on the route they are describing.
Would that 150 million be enough to offset the cost of building phones in USA?
Thats a little nuts. With that volume, youd think they get a corporate discount? I assume for $8500, theyre not flying coach
For short notice biz class to Asia, thats dirt cheap.
No, because the US doesnt have slaves anymore.
Steve Jobs - God rest his soul - spent over $100 million building his private yacht. $150 mill for travel doesnt mean that much to Apple execs.
We’re talking a $200B+ tech manufacturer. This is a drop in the bucket. Granted, I’m all for localization over globalism—especially involving China. But this report is a misleading nothing burger.
I made 2 first class roundtrip flights from Manhattan, KS to Beijing last year on American. Both tickets cost @ $5,500 each.

Security updates for software are essential but changing page layout of things like yucko (Yahoo) mail? The changes they made recently caused months long bedlam for the users and not much else.
In other products the number of useless changes is amazing in number and perplexing as to why? Who would want to keep up with this many part numbers , if they do, to support their product?
Multiple power cord configurations? Why?
They could use the builtin cameras on their computers to hold a meeting.
Yeah, the Chinks have society all figured out...
