Working in DC it is not unusual to bump into notable people. My favorite story is jaywalking down Pennsylvania Ave. with FBI director William Sessions. We came to a light and I said 'Let's go'.....we nearly got side swiped by an auto. Sessions just chuckled.

Also bumped into Tony Snow at the physician's office. Still miss him.

Many contacts with notables in airports & on airplanes; i.e.Cal Ripken

A couple my friends were surprised that I kept my mouth shut as I walked by Pelosi. She just sat there with that stupid grin on her face and I think pretty much no one recognized her.

1963, Montpelier, Vermont, Ted Kennedy.

Philip Hoff had been elected by the hippie invaders, who now out numbered real Vermonters.

There hadn't been a democrat elected governor in VT since 1853.

Ted came up to celebrate.

We students from the one room school we attended were taken on a "field trip" by our leftist teacher to the event.

Ted and Phil shook all of our hands as we entered the capitol building.

Ted saw my name tag "Edward", grinned and said, oh another Ted.

I replied, no Ed, and I will be washing this hand as soon as I can.

The teacher wasn't happy with this 3rd grader.

I spent a lot of years working in and around Hollywood, and have met more than my share of famous people.

Sidney Portier - a powerful executive presence.

Michael Douglas - a real gent and very down to earth.

George Burns - the same guy you know from the movies.

Tim Allen - he’s the ‘tool guy’ in real life.

Cher - she really is a bitch. No lie.

Alex Haley - I damn near ran him over (his fault).

Alan Alda - flightly. Spacey.

Tom Cruise - a regular guy, believe it or not.

Chick Corea - calm, masterful presence. Like an ancient seer.

Freddie Stone - genuine, generous, open. Offered to teach me guitar.

Annie Potts - served me homemade cookies in her kitchen. A real sweetie.

John Anderson - served me lemon pie in *his* kitchen! An awesome spirit.

Leah Remini - a sweet teenager when I met her.

Lisa Marie Presley - withdrawn, quiet. Seemed unsure of herself.

Norman Whitfield - royal presence, but a gentleman.

Todd Bridges - punk kid braggart. Full of himself.

Robin Trower - a deep, wizened soul, and a real gent.

Walking up the dock from our boat we passed William F. Buckley coming down the ramp. To this day , I regret not saying something to him. He died not long after.
We lived in a town with a summer theater and every year celebrities descended on the town. Now they’re mostly washed up celebs. We also had a few movies shot there with the Witches of Eastwick being the most notable. Cher, Michelle Phillips, Susan Sarandon and Jack Nicholson were around for weeks.

Had a drink and a short conversation with Jack Palance in an LA Airport hotel bar back in the late 90's. I had a great uncle who was an actor in the John Wayne early days. Jack didn't know him though :(

Just had Nancy Pelosi on our Jet Blue flight to Fort Lauderdale. We were shocked she would fly with the unwashed masses.

Oh, no deranged passengers shouted her down, like they did when Ivanka Trump and her family flew JetBlue?

Sat about two rows behind Ted Turner on a flight from DC to Atlanta back in 1981. Got to talk to his body guard.

Met Quentin Tarantino while walking around in Mann’s Chinese Theatre. He was drunk as a skunk or high at the time.

After having worked with the Olympic Training Center for many years, I have many stories of notables I’ve met and befriended.

Across the street was a comedy club, where I went to see Pat Paulsen. That night I was stranded in the narrow line when some beautiful woman squeezed past me in the opposite direction. It was so tight that she actually gave me a full body rub as she went by me, staring me right in the eyes and saying “excuse me” with an absolutely devilishly look on her beautiful face.

It was Elvira, without her costume. Never will I forget that. Never.

Yes, I’ve told this before. Blame me.

I was a caddy once for Jack LaLanne. Don Knots, Tom Bosley and Efrem Zimbalist Jr. were the rest of the foursome.

Whoopi Goldberg cleaned up my dirty plate and poured my coffee before she was famous.

I went to the grocery store with my Mom when I was a kid.

I couldn’t believe it!

There was Lassie!

She was just like a regular person.

She gave me a photo with her paw print on it.

Whenever my dogs get a little too uppity, I pull out Lassie’s photo and show it to them.

“I got her paw print. The best you guys ever did was bark at Michael Keaton.”

Going through customs at the Bahamas standing in front of me with his back to me was this tall bald guy - Sean Connery! I was completely oblivious to him! I am busy trying to keep track of our luggage, my then 10 year old daughter & my wife. My wife later told me who it was, she said he spoke to me, I don’t remember it. I was completely focused on luggage etc. so I was probably rude. Sad thing is right before the trip I watched one of my favorite Sean Connery movies - “The Molly McGuires”. My excuse is, “He had hair in that movie!”.

In London saw Nicole Kidman & Tom Cruise cross the street with their “posse”. I was one layer of “posse” behind them.

While I was single I was going to lunch in Georgetown & George Will got out of a Porsche right in front of me. It was very sudden I almost walked into the door.

One day I when at work in DC I was entering a government building and watched Wolf Blitzer’s several attempts at using a security turnstile. He demonstrated why he scored in negative numbers on Celebrity Jeopardy!

Set next to Louis Rukeyser on an airplane on a trip to California. Nice, friendly guy and as you would think interesting to talk to!

When I visited Nashville for the first time in 1995, on the way home I sat next to a woman who worked for West Virginia’s public TV company. In any event, she worked on the production of some Civil (or it might have been Revolutionary) War feature for educational purposes and the company was given a list of celebrities who were not really expensive to hire as actors in this production. Porter Wagoner was on that list and he was hired to play an army general or officer of sorts and this woman told me that he was such a very nice person to work with and he was really funny when hamming it up.

This is the first time I've seen this picture. When I was a kid in Honolulu, my parents took us to the airport to see Elvis. The two lane road to the airport was jammed with cars.

In the early sixties, you had to walk from your plane across the cement to the terminal. My father had an 8 mm movie camera. He waited in the huge crowd at the front of the plane. He was only able to get Elvis stepping out of the plane. I remember seeing this video. Elvis looked one inch tall.

When Elvis got off the plane he didn't go into the terminal. He walked along the fence shaking everybody's hands. My mother and older brother shook his hand. I remember all the leis he had around his neck.

When my father was stationed in Bermuda, he met Vice President Nixon. Nixon was a guest of my father's boss. The dinner ware, dishes, silverware, etc., came off of the captured German submarine U-505.

My nephew is in the Air Force. He is stationed in Colorado Springs. He briefed Vice President Pence about his job when Pence toured the base. They let the Vice President send some commands to a satellite. There are pictures of Pence's visit on the Internet.

As a very young child, my mom had us youngsters go get an autograph from Liberace whom we passed on the sidewalks of Gatlinburg.

In 7th grade my friend and I (while visiting Graceland) left the tour, snuck around to the back, and knocked on the kitchen door. Don’t know if it was Elvis’ dad or manager, but he was highly upset and told us to leave.

While living a short time in Hollywood, I was at the Improvisation Club one night and Freddie Prinze (Sr.) walked in and sat not far from our table. Also during that time saw Andy Kaufman many times at the Improv...Andy was still pretty much unknown at that time though he had recently gotten a gig on the Dick Van Dyke show. And of course, saw Bud Friedman, the owner of the Improvisation, many times too while there.

John Force 16 Time NHRA Funny Car Champion back in I think 1995 (5th Championship that year) at Texas Motorplex in Ennis (what they call the Dallas Race) He is just a crazy and fast talking as on TV, it’s not an act by any means. Got to watch the Crew Service the Car between Rounds while standing inside the roped off Pit area Courtesy of the Ford Representative that was Hosting Us that weekend. It’s like watching a Ballet with way bigger dancers carrying Parts everywhere at high speed without ever running into each other.
