Back in the 1980s, there was a furor over the military buying foreign fasteners (nuts and bolts) that were no good.
The military went back to school on fasteners and fixed it.

idle speculation and fear mongering. there is no proof such a chip actually exists let alone was installed anywhere. Chips are not just willy-nilly stuck on circuit boards - the boards are designed to have such and such chips at such and such design spec to do such and such actions. Quality control checks all these specs and rating. Any extra chips or chips out of spec would be spotted right away.
Mostly this story is aimed at driving stock prices low for options traders. Which seems to have worked, while peons get worked up about security - most of whom have no idea what is involved. Else just a plain fake. May as well say extra-solar aliens instead of Chinese.

same reason I don’t like the idea of illegals (foreignors) working on border wall as some suggest, or illegals building bridges, roads anything, I’ve seen too many have no regard for things at their work place, many years back saw video’s of all the trash they leave in (organ pipe?) national park and along the border, if foreignors have no respect or regard for land they travel through or items given to work with they have no regard for any of us citizens and likely not do a good job in most everything they do.
What if there was evidence that some of the crew were not properly doing their duties? If they had said that there were discrepancies in what the instruments said and reality, or they tried to take evasive actions and something didn’t respond correctly, this guy’s theories might have more weight....not saying it ain’t possible, just that the coincidence of lax watch duty makes this suspect.
