If Convention of the States Doesn’t Happen, Your Children Won’t Recognize America in 50 Years

On his nationally syndicated radio show last Friday, host Mark Levin said that if a Convention of the States does not happen, children today won’t recognize America for what it is in 50 years.

Speaking about the Convention of the States on his Friday show, Levin stated, “It’s certainly not gonna happen tomorrow, certainly not gonna happen next year, but if it doesn’t happen, I’m telling you, in 50 years, your children will not recognize this country.”

“We had a few calls last night, as I do often, asking, ‘Mark, where do we go with this? Where are we headed? How do we save our republic?’ And I wrote an entire book on this called the “Liberty Amendments.”

“Remember the Albany Congress and the Stamp Act Congress and the First Continental Congress and the Second Continental Congress, how the colonies and then the states would meet, would meet to discuss what was taking place in the country, how to make it better?

“Well, those geniuses who met in Philadelphia after the Revolutionary War to replace the Articles of Confederation with an actual constitution, they put a provision in their constitution under Article V that provides two ways to amend the Constitution: one, through Congress. Two-thirds of both houses, proposing amendments to the states, three-fourths of the states or now 38 states having to ratify. And two days before the end of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, George Mason stood up – a delegate from Virginia, genius, brilliant – and he said, ‘If Congress shall turn oppressive, the only way to reform what’s taking place is through violence. We must give the people the power to address a tyrannical Congress,’ or in this case a tyrannical federal government. And they set forth the process in the Constitution, and the legitimate constitutional way is through the state legislatures – 34 state legislatures, coming up with virtually identical resolutions when it comes to the issues they want to discuss, calling for a meeting, a convention of the states, where they meet and they discuss what they want to do to get the original Constitution back, which has been rewritten by the politburo that we now call the Supreme Court, which still would require the same ratification process: 38 states, three-fourths of the state legislatures, either by the legislatures or convention.

“So there’s no potential whatsoever for a runaway convention since the states are in charge from beginning to end. This is how you address what’s taking place in this country. It’s certainly not gonna happen tomorrow, certainly not gonna happen next year, but if it doesn’t happen, I’m telling you, in 50 years your children will not recognize this country.”

It's certainly NOT like the country I grew up in NOW. Men kissing men in the street, and using the women's bathrooms in department stores. Elementary school children taught about sex instead of arithmetic. Mob action tolerated, and even encouraged, in the face of people they oppose. And if you say anything about any of this, you are to be publically shamed.

Art V to, at a minimum, repeal the 16th and 17th.

The first thing a convention of states will do is throw out the Constitution. They will write a new one. Who knows what freedoms and rights of citizens will be preserved. Rumor has it the Democrats have a new “constitution” ready to go. I fear a convention of states because, regardless of their instructions, the Constitution will be tossed.

Anti Art V ninnies should get a grip. The Constitution has failed. It has failed utterly. The bureaucracy is out of control and states rights were de-codified by the 17th amendment. LOOK AT REALITY.

The Constitution has failed. Throw it out. If we can’t win now in a political sense against the socialists then at least lets have it out. After an Art V we can say we tried peaceful methods BEFORE the shooting actually starts. Yes, things are that bad. If you are old you can’t ride out the clock, SORRY.

How could you POSSIBLY pass an Amendment establishing term limits using the Congressional method of passing Amendments. Congress would NEVER vote to term limit themselves.

A Convention of the States would have a fixed agenda, to discuss ONE item only. Nobody would endorse a wide-open Convention. Besides, any decision reached by the Convention would still need the support of 38 States for ratification or the whole exercise would be wasted.

For another layer of protection, the States would should name a wise and trusted Chairman, to block any shenanigans. I propose Mark Levin or Judge Jeanine Pirro to chair the convention.

Remember, this isn’t the usual pack of federal crooks and pedophiles running this Convention. In fact, Congress doesn’t have much control over this at all. This is YOUR State sending delegates, so YOU should only send people you trust. I’m aware but not afraid. This could work quite nicely.

Donald Trump is the little boy putting his finger in the hole of the dike giving us a little time.

We need something like the Convention of States or else we will be totally ruled by globalists.

If I were to be in charge of Convention of States…

The Bill of Rights would be reaffirmed!

ALL government service, save military would be limited to 16 years. President would stay at eight.

16th and 17th Amendments would be repealed. National tax would be on consumption not income.

States would have to pay for their Congressional delegations… if a Congress member or Senator wants a raise… they’d have to request it from their state legislature.

ALL participants in courtroom trials and proceedings would be placed under oath. Judges, lawyers and witnesses. If a prosecutor (per Mueller) withholds exculpatory evidence from the defense, it would be felony perjury.

ALL CASE LAW… that result from court decisions (Roe v. Wade, “gay” marriage, etc.) would have to be voted on by Congress and signed by the president to remain law. FAR too much “law” is adjudicated not legislated as required by the Constitution. This would be retroactive to all court decisions that are now treated as law.

Any child born is U.S.A. must have at least one citizen biological parent to be a birth citizen.

Those entering the country not through a port of entry (illegally) would not be eligible for asylum.

Any DACA or illegal residents given amnesty are never eligible to vote in any U.S. election local or national, unless they leave and apply legally.

Feel free to add some more…

I hardly recognize America now myself. In our area of Atlanta it’s like a foreign country. A convention of states isn’t going to get rid of the burkas and the illegals and H1-B Indians. It’s not going to keep the public schools from churning out good little socialists either.

it is that same bureaucracy that would end up controlling a state convention. use other means to regain control.

Good list, Fiddle.

And Congress will enact exactly how many of these, under whatever kind of push (or threat) we can apply? Damned few, I’ll wager.

But a Convention of the States could.

Yup. James Cagney as “Cody Jarrett’’ in “White Heat’’. It's the last line in the last scene of the movie. A very cryptic scene at that.
