If Convention of the States Doesn’t Happen, Your Children Won’t Recognize America in 50 Years

On his nationally syndicated radio show last Friday, host Mark Levin said that if a Convention of the States does not happen, children today won’t recognize America for what it is in 50 years.

Speaking about the Convention of the States on his Friday show, Levin stated, “It’s certainly not gonna happen tomorrow, certainly not gonna happen next year, but if it doesn’t happen, I’m telling you, in 50 years, your children will not recognize this country.”

“We had a few calls last night, as I do often, asking, ‘Mark, where do we go with this? Where are we headed? How do we save our republic?’ And I wrote an entire book on this called the “Liberty Amendments.”

“Remember the Albany Congress and the Stamp Act Congress and the First Continental Congress and the Second Continental Congress, how the colonies and then the states would meet, would meet to discuss what was taking place in the country, how to make it better?

“Well, those geniuses who met in Philadelphia after the Revolutionary War to replace the Articles of Confederation with an actual constitution, they put a provision in their constitution under Article V that provides two ways to amend the Constitution: one, through Congress. Two-thirds of both houses, proposing amendments to the states, three-fourths of the states or now 38 states having to ratify. And two days before the end of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, George Mason stood up – a delegate from Virginia, genius, brilliant – and he said, ‘If Congress shall turn oppressive, the only way to reform what’s taking place is through violence. We must give the people the power to address a tyrannical Congress,’ or in this case a tyrannical federal government. And they set forth the process in the Constitution, and the legitimate constitutional way is through the state legislatures – 34 state legislatures, coming up with virtually identical resolutions when it comes to the issues they want to discuss, calling for a meeting, a convention of the states, where they meet and they discuss what they want to do to get the original Constitution back, which has been rewritten by the politburo that we now call the Supreme Court, which still would require the same ratification process: 38 states, three-fourths of the state legislatures, either by the legislatures or convention.

“So there’s no potential whatsoever for a runaway convention since the states are in charge from beginning to end. This is how you address what’s taking place in this country. It’s certainly not gonna happen tomorrow, certainly not gonna happen next year, but if it doesn’t happen, I’m telling you, in 50 years your children will not recognize this country.”

A return to God is what this country can’t survive without.

We do NOT need a convention of states.

But we do need American presidents, to be for AMERICA.

For the entire last generation and a half, everyone in both political parties has been selling out America. Largely to China, the most populated country in the history of the entire world.

China is, taking over the world’s production. That must stop. That must REVERSE. Now. And Levin needs to kindly get with the program.

Trump seems to be on the right path. But he needs to take some action, and we need to get him re-elected next time for four more years.

America first.

(says practically nobody, anymore)

It is time to be for America first, once again.

I know, there will likely be some post claiming “America first” is somehow anti-Something or other.

I do not agree.

It is what America is all about.

Fifty years?? What planet is he on? We don’t have that much time. I give it 5 or 10. And I already don’t recognize it. Children learning communism and weird sex, the govt condoning a foreign invasion, gays dictating the content of every TV show, movie and magazine, the govt at war with itself, Christians being persecuted and thier businesses destroyed, anti-Americanism everywhere - damn! We don’t have 50 years. Not by a long shot.

There is one thing we have learned for sure since President Trump began his campaign. It’s that we can’t trust what will happen when pols get together. The bad guys would stage a few bogus terrorist attacks or frame situations and then use that to cause outrage and pass their anti-US agenda.

Restore sound money to the USA (ie. something not printed at will or manipulated by government, bankers or financial central planners, and the aggressive, leftist nanny-state and their host of social justice warriors disappear immediately as a natural consequence

limited government and freedom return automatically.

I disagree.

What America needs is a deliberate attempt to retake our manufacturing base.

Rebuild American production.

China has been taking over. Everyone has been sold out. Everyone. Republicans. Democrats. The media. Our law establishment. Our schools. Everyone is all together, selling out America.

I am just saying. It is time to stop selling out America, and it is time to RETURN manufacturing to America.

This is the most important issue, that Trump ran on. Now I agree he has a bunch which are very important.

The wall for example, is (critical).

But American production is now the biggest long-term issue facing America.

It is high time to be for America again. Not ‘automatically” assuming it will return. No.

For real. It is time to take it back.

Someone needs to take the lead.

Trump, is the one.

I am almost 47, so I am hold enough to remember the America of the mid and late 1980’s. I don’t recognize this country 30 years later. I shutter to think what the will look like in just 10 years.

Donald Trump came along too late to save it. The damage is done and people are just more socialist minded.

An armed revolution would be easier than passing amendments. A shame the Democrats don’t help us out with this by declaring a shooting war against us. All we need is the excuse!

My grandparents could never imagine what this country has descended to. They wouldn't know how the leading elements managed to define deviancy so downward that they could not live with it. I am not sure that even I can come to grips with the actual level of declination.

The religious and education institutions have become so rotted that they are not even recognizable as healing entities, and have become the Typhoid Annies of decadence.

its a trap the last thing we need is a convention of states. do you trust those with political and economic power. if you want to change the constitution do it by amendment. a convention of states should only be done as a last resort. anything can happen. I just don’t trust those who know how to manipulate power and those are the one that will be at the convention. not the little guy.

They ignore the Constitution as it is now!!! How will changing the Constitution make socialists obey it?? As long as we elect amoral leaders (and that includes voting for the lesser of two evils) NOTHING will change. The con-con people usually attack me for saying this. I mean, Article 1 Section 8 is clear. No government health care, no welfare. Over and over, I see alleged conservatives posting support for government schooling. If you want to show real leadership and courage, pull your children out of government schools and homeschool them. THAT is how you restore the Republic. Anything less is almost pointless.

Exactly, I can see Paul Ryan being selected ‘by acclaim’ to be the convention chair.
