Why does my Chihuahua sleep 20 hours a day?

I have some questions regarding this aspect of the story.
While the name of the dog owners has not been released, the meme of the “she opened the gate” kept appearing. I know of very few (none) 75 year old religious females who will go onto the property of others uninvited, especially opening a gate to do so.
This particular item makes me wonder just who opened the gate.
Animal shelters nationwide are filled with Pit Bulls. Many abused. Some fed gun powder (to make them fight). Their meth-cooking, slop-bucket-headed owners use them to keep people from their stash. Doesn’t always work. The dogs sometimes eat the dope.
Also, in case someone wishes to bring up the case of the 72 YO Jehovah’s Witness mauled in Arlington, Washington, last week, the dogs which did so broke out of their yard and attacked her just outside of her car, on the street. They also attacked the three other elderly missionaries getting out of the car on the street, but only the one lady was lifeflighted.
We have a similar situation; my wife found a 10-week-old pit/lab mix, lost and injured on the side of the road, and brought it home. I was really wary about it, but he’s turned out to be a good dog. He now weighs 88 pounds, but we have a Chihuahua, a sheltie, and a miniature dachshund, and he’s never bothered any of them.
I have trouble with him while recovering from a hip replacement - and being 72 years old - but, he minds pretty well unless the sheltie is in heat.
If he gets to rowdy, the Chihuahua (the alpha dog) puts him in his place, and he tucks-tail and cows down.
He has floppy ears, one golden-brown eye, and one moon eye...and the loves water.
They’re pit bulls. It’s what they do.

That’s a great story. Thanks for posting. One odd thing I did notice is that the dates look off. The date it was posted was May 15 2018 but most of the comments are from four years ago? It also cites the number of pit bull related deaths for 2018.

It’s training or lack thereof and what they are exposed to when young. Oh and my Great Pyrenees dogs have the strongest bite of any dog, not a Pit Bull. They can lock their jaws but my dogs will crush bone. Only stronger is a wolf.
I’m currently dealing with an aggressive 140 pound male we adopted and were lied to about but we know our stuff.
And yes my moniker is one of my dog’s names.
Why do millions not attack?
Always treat the pitbull as if it is loaded. It often is.

Yes, it is an editorial-type piece. Possibly the writers either did not have enough time to research I have, which has been over some time. Also, it was for the Mississippi state and area, so they may have just searched for local quotes, many of which could be older. In addition, it is possible that their internet provider may be blocking pit bull stories. A writer needs to write to eat, and the editor may have been saying something along the lines of “I need it good-enough now, not perfectly-done tomorrow”.
I'll bet the idiot that wrote that headline can't figure out why Muzzies go Jihad, either.
Our mini doxie absolutely loves to hunt mice. If he’s allowed in our outbuildings, he runs in, finds a mouse, snaps it’s neck, drops it, then repeats. We won’t let him dig, though. Surprisingly, he “allowed” my husband to train him not to dig. (Just like he “allows” us to pretend we’re the boss.)
