It’s an admirable stand, but if the free markets decides he’s worth more than a female counterpart, then he’s only hurting himself. You can bet that if the free market decides that she is more valuable that he is, that she won’t make a similar sacrifice.
Easy solution - he can volunteer to pay the difference. If he is paid 10 million dollars and she is paid 4 million, he can just give her 3 million so they are even.
